This movie is awesome! It's so funny! Johnny Depp is brilliant once again and the guy playing Lone Ranger is just as good. Don't listen to the critics ever (remember they like movies like The English Patient)! Highly recommend this movie.

I thought this was a good movie. I was surprised that it was underwhelming on it's first weekend at the box office. I suppose it was the demographic of primarily people over 35 who saw the movie. I would not have seen this movie if J. Depp was not in it. Having a different actor than A. Hammer may have given it better reviews; there were times that his acting did not sell the character. Two and a half hours may be a little long. These may be factors that kept people away. I would recommend this movie, however.

Average Movie with average storyline but Native American genocide story
so sad with the removal of the Commanche people that I wasn't satisfed with the price of the movie's environment of offering food that had an allergic food part of the ordered Honey Dijon Chicken wrap that had diced tomotoes in the equation of my total dining experience and movie experience overalll. I hadn't asked or told the waiting staff of my allergy either. I still only liked Johnny Depp as an actor worth giving his best acting ability overall but Arnie Hammer was an averaage acting prformance
overall. The dialogue could have been written better. I had to get past the
noisy background noise of people talking below me of the rattling of dishware & my undevided attention was sometimes focused on that waiting staff. walking up and down the stairs during the movie.. This is all the remebered memories of this movie that is worth writing about.

Where does one begin with a movie as bad as this. "Everyone is a bad guy controlled by one central greedy man".... wow that's original.
"The strange character in the cast is really the brains and muscle behind the hero's"..... wow... that's sooooo original.
The only novel idea in the story was that of turning the Lone Ranger into a buffoon. And who approved of that? The Lone Ranger as a buffoon, who is running Disney these days??
The camera work was nothing above average, CGI being relied on way too much.
The music was predictable and not at all interesting.
Really, Walt would NOT have let this low rent effort have his name on it.

Right now it may be a box office bomb...Thanks to critics but I believe this will do just fine in the long run. I do think it hurts that's kids just don't know who the lone Ranger is... but as far as taking the kids to this or Dispicimal me.. This wins hands down... Ignore the critics..this is a must see !!

One of the funniest movies I have seen in a while. The movie made funny the idea of being buried in the ground with scorpions on your face - if that is possible. Silver (the horse) was hilarious, and the action was well-paced. There was shooting and people getting killed, but not a lot of blood and guts. The bad guy was bad -- I hated his curled upper lip, but after all he WAS the bad guy. This is a must-see... Johnny Depp at his funniest!

In a nutshell, the tale of the lone ranger was expressed, but in a strange way. Vampires? Flesh eating foes? Must they go in that direction?!?!?!? And the treatment of the native americans (apachies) was horrific!!!! Gatling guns? It reminded me of The Last Samurai!!!! And Johnny Depp was basically acting the Jack Sparrow part, but with a dead crow glued to his scalp. Terrible.

As a fan of the Lone Ranger as a child I was expecting more. I don't think they explored the depth of the relationship between Tonto and the Lone Ranger. I thought the comic relief provided by the Tonto character was over the top. It was like watching Jack Sparrow in the Wild West!!

Glad I read reviews and didn't listen to the News, or other Professional Movie Critics, they gave it bad ratings, Loved this Movie! What a great story and funny. My son is 8 yrs old he loved this movie, he has been talking about Tonto and the Lone Ranger all night.. I watched The Lone Ranger when I was little so it was nice to see it back in modern times and to see the Actors who played the characters Great Job Done! I would definitely recommend you go see it. I was concerned because the critics didn't seem to love this movie, but I read the "user reviews" on MovieTickets.com, and they were a little more generous with their critique. I would say that I agreed more with the critics on this one.
It was fairly entertaining and Johnny Depp, (reprising his Capt Jack Sparrow roll) as Tonto this time, was entertaining. The other acting was good, but the story line of the Lone Ranger character was somewhat disappointing. The hero of this story was not so heroic for most of the movie. However, during the last half hour, when he finally became the vigilante that the Lone Ranger is, the movie really picked up and made it all worth while.

Johnny Depp added his own unique wit & demeanor to his Tonto character, making this movie very funny, with a lot of great one-liners. 5 of us went to see the movie together, & all 5 of us loved it ... thanks to Johnnny Depp's funny take on Tonto. Don't expect this to be like the old Lone Ranger ... expect to be entertained by Johnny Depp's funny remake of Tonto's character. It's all about Johnny Depp being Johnny Depp!! Enjoy it!! :)

A lot of critics were counting this movie out and harping on Johnny Depp's performance. Movies were meant to entertain and that is exactly what this movie did. The sequences and effects were great although campy at times, but hey folks, ITS A MOVIE! The Lone Ranger and Tonto were supposed to be able to have that edge of the spirit world and slightly be able to do what others couldn't. I enjoyed this movie very much and felt that the story was great. Good, action packed flick for the family. Especially to show your kids what a GOOD man can do when the odds are stacked against him.

Good story, It could've been better with a little extra dialog and a more prominent actor cast as the Lone Ranger. There are a few scenes involving rabbits, Indians and a horse that are disturbing particularly for kids under 13.

Took all our boys (ages 4, 7 & 9) and my parents (baby boomers) and all thoroughly enjoyed the film. Good story with much dead pan humor from Depp. EXCELLENT action! Stunts in train scenes were great. Would definitely recommend and will go see again while on the big screen.

This is the perfect must see summer movie. Action, Romance & Comedy. Add a star if you are familiar with the original. The movie was 2 and a half hours long and I was disappointed when it was over! Can't wait to see it again.
