Normally I avoid supernatural or horror movies, but I've seen The Woman in Black done on stage 3 times, so I was interested to see how the movie version compares. The basic concept and setting are the same, but the details and some characters are different. Well-done classic English ghost story, set in a small coastal town, complete with haunted, isolated, old mansion, and of course the shadowy Woman in Black. Not for everybody, but I liked it.

I have to admit I'm not one for horror flicks. My wife's birthday wish and my curiosity about what happened to Daniel Radcliffe Post HP got the best of me.
It was well done, and so I disliked it. I want an uplifting story, with redeeming features in the end. It is really a kind of pornography of fear- basically bad for you.
I'd rather have a ghost story like the Ghost Whisperer series- where people begin in fear of each other and end with love and understanding. Not like this movie where efforts to reach out and bring peace are punished.
I wonder if that's what the afterlife is actually like?

This is one of those classic scary movies that is perfect to see at the theater! The lighting in the film along with scary unsettling music sets an erie tone. Creepy you think you know what will happen next and it doesn't throws you off guard. Great movie worth the money.

This movie was by far the scariest movie since "The Others." I did not sleep for days. My boyfriend who never joults, joulted through the entire movie. WE loved it! Daniel Radcliffe was superb! I would totally watch it over and over!

This movie was just "okay". It wasn't as scary as I was expecting at all. The acting was pretty good, but the storyline was slow and didn't develop as well as it could have. Don't bother seeing it in the theater...get it on Netflix.

Hammer is back! Excellent movie with a great foggy Gothic ghost feel. Radcliffe did a superb job.
If you like real horror that tickles primordial fear, you will enjoy this flick.
