I loved it, it was one of the best scary/suspense films I have seen in a long time. I love the time setting, and Daniel Radcliff was amazing, I am anxious to see what roll he will choose next, and ummm he is also easy on the eyes. Very legit horror movie! No blood and gore, just creepy and scary! The setting was perfect abd the acting was amazing! Somewhat predictable of what is coming next but the ending has an awesome twist! Only thing I hated was the creepy dolls!!!! Seriously?! Those are enough to give you nightmares! Aside from it being somewhat predictable it has to be one of the best horror films I have seen in a long while! Definitely worth going to see!

Definitely had that trepidatious effect. The story was somewhat silly. Its basically a guy who keeps following all this creepy stuff around a dank empty house and then keeps going back in for more. But the effects were good, the frights were good. On average I give it a three stars.

OK, I give this movie 3 1/2 stars. First the pros: Daniel Radcliffe is incredibly handsome w/his black hair, sideburns and soulful blue eyes. I didn't think "Harry" once! Tho it took a little getting used to seeing him in an adult role (DR is 22, playing a 25 y/o widower/dad, tho I guess that's not overly implausible from that era.) Cinematography and set design was gorgeous. Very bleak, cold, dark, really set the mood. And those darn creepy wind-up musical toys...did kids of yore REALLY like those things??! I did appreciate that there wasn't a lot of blood & gore. This felt like a much classier production than a 'Nightmare on Elm Street' type slasher film. Now for the Cons: I think the director waaaay over-used the 'pop out and scare you' technique. It got a little old about 3/4 of the way thru. Tho it was funny hearing a theater full of shrieking tween/teens, lol! The kids & their role in the movie were quite disturbing and the ending was sad, yet happy, yet...sad.

Best non-gore horror movie I've seen. It was great creepy, scare your pants off horror. This movie had people screaming out loud. Edge of your seat from minute one right up to the shocking end. Recommend sleeping with the light on after seeing this movie.

Solid enough movie and definitely has some great "jump out of your seat" moments, much better then most. That said, story is pretty old and tired and has every cliche (crows, creepy dolls, old scary house, etc.). Fun movie, but not a must see.

I thoroughly enjoyed seeing a horror movie that wasn't covered in blood! I think Dan Radcliffe gave an excellent performance. I really enjoyed HP and am excited to see his career moving forward past his Hogwarts era.

Like all gothic horror movies it has strong emotion at its core and frights all around. i will not give away anything but it has at least four shout out scares and the ending is dazzling and very satisfying.
