Batman - The Dark Knight Rises is a fantastic conclusion to the trilogy that teaches today's youth what life would be like if the 99% crowd took control of a major city. No law, no justice, no fairness, and being rich is a crime -- all you have to do to be part of the ruling class is except allegiance to a tyrannical dictator who's going to blow everyone up anyway!! The Christian themes of redemption, leaps of faith, rising up from Hades, protecting the weak, evil triumphing when good men do nothing, and evil getting the snot kicked out of them for all the badness they bring to Gotham. This Batman is by far the best in the series and Christopher Nolan weaves together a plot that connects all three movies while still keeping you on the edge of your seat. Bane is the ultimate liberal anarchist juxtaposed to Batman, the ultimate "hero of last resort" who is the only one who can save the day. This movie should get an Oscar and -- although I am surprised to say this -- was actually BETTER than The Avengers! The Avengers was fun, but Batman makes you think... and I like to go to movies that work complexity into the story and still make it good! I cannot wait to see Batman The Dark Knight Rises again! Nuff said! ;)

As with any film with so high a profile and such insurmountable expectations going in, you could certainly point out some flaws. But, the gripping story and amazing visuals make The Dark Knight Rises an unarguably fitting end to Nolan's Batman.

I did enjoy this movie and I do want to see it at least one more time in the theater. I think I can now say this is the greatest trilogy ever, although Lord of the Rings is still up there too. My main problem with it was how quickly Bruce Wayne recovered from his first beating from Bane. I did not think Bane was overly intelligent, and was not impressed with Tom Hardy's portrayal. That all being said, Anne Hathaway and Joseph Gordon-Levitt were amazing and Christian Bale and Morgan Freeman were as good as they had been previously. I have read other reviewers say this is the weakest movie of the trilogy, which I would agree, but I think that is just because how good the first two were. The movie may have been a little long too, but I think that was needed to put a nice bow in order to conclude the trilogy. So, all my critiques have been very nit-picky, but I watched exactly what I expected, and was very pleased with the Dark Knight Rises!

I was skeptical going into the movie on if it could hold up to the other two films and was pleasantly surprised. It is up to par with the first film and has a great finish to the Christopher Nolan trilogy.

What an incredible movie!! So inspirational and at times, so dark and void of hope but like many good movies, you know the good guy is supposed to win, but with this movie, you weren't sure if that was gonna be the case. Excellent screenplay, excellent acting, and the sound effects were incredible. You felt and heard every bone crack during th efight scenes and the crowd was so entranced during the movie, that you could hear the perverbial pin drop.

This film far surpassed my expectations. I wasnt very keen on Bane as a villain but Tom Hardy made him very compelling to watch and was perfect as Batman's archenemy. Christian Bale as usual was brilliantly human as the lead character. Anne Hathaway was good as the Catwoman. Throw all the speciall effects and the amazing opening scene in and you have an amazing finish to a stellar trilogy of films. I will see this one again before too long. I would recommend this film to anyone who is a fan of the series. Enjoy.

Not just The Dark Knight Rises but Christopher Nolan also rises with this movie. It is the best in the series and an epic conclusion. Just like with any other movie, there are minor things that can be questioned but overall it is a 10/10.

This movie I have been looking forward to for 3 years. I bought the tickets more than 2 months before the release last night. It was amazing! The acting was great in this movie as was the action.
I absolutely loved the end when the dream of Alfred came true.
I feel this opens this up so a next Dark Knight could actually happen.
The Story wasn't bad either. It was absolutely wonderful!

This movie was absolutely fantastic! I must say I was skeptical of Anne Hathaway as Catwoman, but her performance was spectacular, her emotions and witty remarks really make parts of the movie. Christian Bale really delivers with his best performance yet as an aging, still grieving Batman/Bruce Wayne,Joseph Gordon-Levitt turns in a great performance as a truly likeable headstrong police officer. Tom Hardy plays the role of Bane,the movies main villain, and delivers with a superb performance aided by a deep backstory. At times you may find it difficult to understand what Bane is saying because of his mask, but later in the movie his speech becomes much clearer. This is in my opinion the darkest movie of the series, but also the best at the same time. The actors in this movie had difficult shoes to fill after the memorable performance turned in by the late Heath Ledger as Joker, and in my opinion surpassed all expectations, especially the performance of Hathaway. This was truly a perfect concluding movie for a perfect trilogy,one that delivers quite a few unexpected twists, and does the rare feat of actually being as good if not better than it's two preceding movies. This is an absolute must see movie for any and all Batman/movie fans!!

As an avid movie-goer, I'd say it deserves a look, but it's not worth seeing more than once.
It's visually too dark, slow at times, and has little to no sense of humor. AND, not enough Batman! More Batman, please. It sports a lame garbled villain that's not a bit intriguing - all cardboard, no character. (Inception is far-and-away the better film).

A fantastic end to the Christopher Nolan trilogy. The story was gripping, which made up for some somewhat subpar acting by Hathaway and Hardy. The action was intense, and jaw-dropping. Heath Ledger made The Dark Knight a superior movie, but this is still THE superhero movie of the summer (sorry Spiderman & Avengers).

I loved the movie, I thought the beginning was a little slow and drawn out. Once the story started to form, it got much better.

This movie was a great ending to the Dark Knight trilogy from Christopher Nolan. The story, acting and film work made this movie the best of the 3 for me. I'd recommend you get there early, get a great seat and then hang on for the 2 hour 44 minute thrill ride!!

I went into the movie really skeptical. I was not sure how I felt about Anne Hathaway as Cat Woman, but she blew me away. She went above and beyond for the role, really embodying the character in every way possible, including more subtle ways. Bane was amazing as the villain (though there is a bit towards the end that I feel takes away from his character a bit, but I won't say because of spoilers.) If you are going into it hoping for Bane to be as he was in the comics, you will be slightly disappointed. But not extremely, probably. Christian Bale was wonderful, he really became the role more than in the previous movies, I felt. Joseph Gorden-Levitt fit in surprisingly well. Marion Cotillard was really the only one that I could have done without. I felt like she was unnecessary, just an add in that they allowed to become too large of a role. As a love interest for Bruce Wayne, she had little to no chemistry with Christian Bale. It felt forced between them. There were some choppy transitions, where you could tell Nolan had wanted to include more of the story, but had to cut parts he probably wanted to keep just to keep the length of the film more reasonable. The 2 hour and 44 minute run-time is a bit daunting, but I was absolutely enthralled for every second of this movie. Apart from that, though- Wow! This was, in my opinion, the best of the Dark Knight Trilogy. The cinematography was above and beyond, the special effects, the story, the gadgets- it was incredible

The biggest surprise may just be how satisfying Nolan has made his farewell to a Dark Knight trilogy that many fans will wish he'd extend to a 10-part series, at least. A phenomenal piece of film-making by a director at the top of his game and a spectacular and emotional end to the trilogy. The Dark Knight Rises isn't just a stunning piece of summer escapism, it's an urgent -- and ultimately cool -- plea for personal responsibility in a world where liberty lies in chains. A must see.

TDKR offers nothing new in any way, shape or form. It’s a convoluted and depressing mess that’s caught in no man’s land. It actually takes itself too seriously yet offers ridiculous action (ridiculous as in dumb, not as in wild or fun) and even more ridiculous characters. It wants to be taken seriously like TDK managed to deliver but functions in bizarre surroundings with a foolish plot. Movies like TDK and most efforts from Marvel work because they develop characters, tell a smart story by grounding the concept and still deliver the action. This movie tries to take a similar approach but it simply can’t stand on its own as a film. Will the fondness for the past two films mask the terrible failure that hits the screen here? Will dull, dumb and chaotic appeal to even the youngest crowds or the biggest Nolan fans? Maybe it does but the rest of us want way more in our summer movies.
