Awesome...It was great fun! This has a much different feel than the last one. Bale and Hardy were great, but I was really surprised by how well Anne Hathaway pulled off her character. It was very long. 2 hours and 44 mins but it went by fast and the ending was satisfying.
Pros well paced, great story, great actors
Cons almost 3 hrs long

Well after the most anticipated movie of the summer has been finally released, I will admit that i have been thrown a total curveball when it comes to "Batman and the way it turned out. Although the movie fell deeply short of personal expectations, it did not at all disappoint in any way. Christopher Nolan did a fantastic job of capping off the historic Batman trilogy by once again leaving audiences feeling that there is a horrible grim side to the world we live in, but it doesn't take a caped crusader to bring justice and peace, all we need is strong willed civilians with the intentions of doing good. As far as positive things with the film, acting and casting was superb, storyline kept u waiting and guessing, and the caped crusader never looked so good. However this didn't completely take away from the fact that the movie seemed to have this sense of constant building up of suspense but no real jaw dropper. I also was disappointed that the movie wasn't as realistic as the Dark Knight, and many people said after the midnight premiere earlier this morning that their hands down favorite is still the Dark Knight. But all in all the movie was well done, good story, plenty of new faces, reliable old faces, and a twist on the batman legacy.............Robin? Yes ladies and gentleman that would be the truth behind this review, besides the great special effects, catchy story, heart pounding action, what is to become of the series now that Batman is gone, and Robin is introduced. And Bravo to picking a superb actor to play robin if needed. So Christopher nolan, will you be bringing back a new trilogy focused on a new hero? Will we have to wait another 4 agonizing years to know? That question is for everyone to find out sooner than later hopefully!

I'll avoid spoilers in this review.
In _The Dark Knight Rises_, we have probably the most nuanced performance by Christian Bale as the Batman yet; there is a range here that surpasses his fine work on the other two movies as he goes from hurting, near-crippled recluse back to the hero he was in the first two movies. Anne Hathaway very clearly displays the manipulative persona necessary to believe her expertise as a cat burglar. Hardy displays pure brute force from beginning to end, physically superior to Batman (save only one weakness) and almost his equal in terms of strategy. One does believe that the strength of his body and will was forged in the pit of a prison. Caine, Freeman, and especially Oldman all turn in the well-crafted performances we've come to expect from them. Gordon-Levitt, however, becomes Batman's ideals embodied as an exemplary cop, a man who, perhaps even more than Alfred and Lucius Fox, becomes something of a moral compass to a reticent Wayne. My misgivings, though slight, are two with this outing. At rare times, the dialogue seems almost trite. Secondly, the very end of the movie, which I won't divulge, strangely takes a decidedly anti-Nolanesque turn. I understand that this ties in a comment of Alfred's from much earlier in the film, but still, this may have been pushing the envelope a bit even for Batman. This trilogy is probably going to be very difficult to follow-up with another reboot, but who knows? In all of comics, there is no more complex figure than Bruce Wayne/Batman and we may be very pleasantly surprised yet. BTW, all the online speculation over the roles of a couple of characters in the movie is rewarded. Nolan does it again. He manages to work into the movie much from the comic book (particularly from the character of Bane), yet overall gives the whole movie his typically plausible stamp. Fans of the first two movies, as well as newcomers, will be rewarded.

There are no words to describe how perfect this movie was. The most perfect trilogy ever made, and I can hardly image another will rank higher for me.

I really liked how it pulled a lot of information/events from the first movie. It's the kind of movie that definately concluded the trilogy very well yet left some room for someone to possibily extend the series in some way. It was a bit long but at least the storyline didn't get stale or lost in its length.

This a franchise that down in the dumps, until a director with a great vision came along and breathe life back into a character we love. The Dark Knight Rises is a true example of what happen when you focus on the true essence of a character and display why they are who they are. I love all three batman movies and am happy that comic book movies are getting the best respect they deserved.

As someone who has not read the comics, I was not thrilled with the first movie. I know some people had a problem with Katie Holmes, but for a non-comic-reader, the Liam Neeson storyline was boring. After "Batman Begins," I missed my Michael Keaton days.
I enjoyed the second movie more, but was kind of put off by the hype of Heath Ledger's last performance, although he did play an awesome Joker.
So this movie, for me, just didn't have to suck. And it didn't. It did not feel like 2hrs 44mins. It was paced just right, with a good balance of emotion and action. I left the film satisfied, and ready to see it again in IMAX.

Even though I'm very knowledgeable of Batman lore, I still really enjoyed the direction Christopher Nolan took his final installment in the The Dark Knight trilogy. I felt he delivered great closure to the world he built in three fantastic films. The film has a few flaws, but I wasn't taken out of movie experience because of this. 9/10

This movie is worth seeing -- kind of a little too long for the story. I really wish the story was better. It did end better then most trilogies, but the whole second half plot of the movie was stupidly far fetched. I know it's just a movie, but I think they could have done a better job.

I really enjoyed this movie. I think it holds up well in the Trilogy although it would be impossible to surpass the second film, Heath Ledger's Joker was genius. The story brings closure but does leave room for another film if they decide to make a 4th film. Anne Hathaway did a good job as Cat Woman however I would like to have seen more development of her character; the film assumes you already know her story and does little back story as a result. Tom Hardy was a great choice for Bane and felt believable in the role, the only caveat was the voice which did not sound like him at all and I believed was dubbed in until I read differently; I did hear that they remixed his voice to make him more understandable but this is a small point. Christian Bale and Gary Oldman turned in good performances that have been consistent through the whole franchise. Christopher Nolan has pulled off the "Hat Trick" with this film and you will not be disappointed.

Everyone in the movie put on a phenomenal performance. Anne Hathaway truly surprised me in her role of cat woman pulling it off more flawlessly then I thought possible.
The character of Miranda Tate was unfortunately poorly scripted and poorly conceived. The approach to her character also severely undercut Bane, practically raping his back story and persona, and all around I felt they could have just left her out or killed her off earlier in the film and the movie would have been better for it. I appreciate what Nolan tried to do by reconciling the plot with the earlier movies but just leave the League of Shadows out of it.

While it may not be as psychological as its predecessor, the Dark Knight Rises did deliver plentiful plot twists and good ol' Batman action. Now, if you are a follower of the DC Comics, you may find many discrepancies (as with the rest of the trilogy). Besides that, you will enjoy the movie and appreciate it as a work of art and emotion.

This movie was amazing, overall i liked it better than the Dark Knight but I felt the joker was a better villain than Bane, I mean it was the Joker the main Batman villain! And Heath Ledger was just Legendary, so it was something that was going to be tough to beat and I feel like they accomplished exactly what they needed to. This movie blew my mind, I'm not going to ruin anything for you tho :)

This action thriller was great no matter what other critics have been saying. Anne Hathaway does an excellent job playing cat woman and all other actors are excellent as well. Definitely worth the money!

Throughout Director Christopher Nolan’s career, he has shown a flair for dynamic storytelling that revolves around amazing circumstance whether it be the ability to steal dreams or a billionaire orphan who likes to stalk criminals at night while wearing a cape.
The Dark Knight Rises is the pinnacle of Nolan's work and he ends his vision of Gotham's protector with a visually stunning if not entirely critically captivating masterpiece. The story picks up 8 years after Bruce Wayne ran off into the night to protect the ideal of Gotham's crusading District Attorney Harvey Dent. While the city seems far better for it, the drama's main players - Batman, Commissioner Gordon, and Wayne's confidant Alfred - seem to be overburdened by the secret they share. Crime is down as a result of Batman's toppling organized crime but what Nolan's script insinuates is that while things may appear to be better for the everyday citizen of Gotham, there is always a dark underbelly waiting for the chance to strike.
Cue Bane and Selina Kyle, played by Tom Hardy and Anne Hathaway respectively. Bane is by his own admission "Gotham's reckoning'" while Kyle is jewel thief who raises the always interesting question if crime is one's only means of survival then is it so morally objectionable? Her fate in the film seems to tell the viewer how Nolan would probably answer.
On the good guys side, Batman finds new allies in young cop John Blake and philanthropist Miranda Tate each played brilliantly by Nolan veterans (Inception) Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Marion Cotillard. If Bane and Kyle represent Gotham's dark side, Blake and Tate balance the narrative in their idealistic existence or so it would appear.
It all makes for an entertaining final act for Nolan's Dark Knight. Veterans Christian Bale, Morgan Freeman, Michael Caine, and Gary Oldman return so seamlessly to the roles they've played in the first two installments that one might believe they truly live in Gotham City. Hardy, Gordon-Levitt, and Cotillard all give strong performances to hold their own while adding depth to story.
If the movie has any shortcomings, they lie in Hathaway's failure to portray the inner conflict within Catwoman (not to mention the fact that the film never once utters the title Catwoman) and a 164 minute runtime that sometimes finds itself reaching for subplots (see Matthew Modine's unnecessary character, Nixon). Still, the film is definitely the best this Summer has had to offer and if Batman's story had to end somewhere, most will leave theatres believing that Nolan has found the best conclusion.

Most other movie trilogies leave you in disappointment, confused or upset.
Nolan couldn't have made a better ending to his trilogy.
Despite being a Diehard Batman fan, it has made #1 on my top favorite movies list. The Dark Knight being #2 now.
You will not be disappointed.
I wouldn't say Bane was better than Ledger's Joker but he was a good villain.
Pros well paced, great story, great actors, hathaway ;)
