The Dark Knight Rises is different than the previous two Batman movies and that is why I like it so much. It is the perfect completion to the series. Intelligent and intense, TDKR is an amazing journey into the crumbling world of Bruce Wayne. Nolan does a superb job of pulling the audience into the story and taking us on an amazing ride!

If you remove Bane's Sean Connery voice, all of Bruce's lameness & unbelievable miraculous healings, the Batman Begins storyline do-over, the wretched Mercenaries vs Cops fight scene (air punch much??), the rolypoly-shaped "Bat Plane", Miranda's terrible post-crash scene at the end, and pretty much all of the other writing, then you might have a good movie. The actors are great, they just didn't have anything to work with (even Gary Oldman, who can usually do a lot with very little, comes up short). I am more than willing to give the writers that Dark Knight Returns was a very hard act to follow, but they didn't even try. Very disappointed.

Enjoyed it, but walked away feeling the same way as before with his two previous Batman films: Nolan's very good, but he's still trying to cram too much into one movie. For example, it goes without saying that properly explaining Bane's mask and where he gets his power would have made the movie too long. Hence, Nolan is counting on the audience coming in with a certain amount of background knowledge. If you can overlook things like this, the typical Batman fan will love this film.

Though not very dark and not much of the knight on screen it was a wonderful conclusion to the Trilogy. The relationship between Batman and Cat Woman is the best on screen version we have seen to date. Beautiful camera work and scenes that are breathtaking.

The Dark Knight, the greatest superhero movie ever made, set high standards for this movie. Dark Knight Rises was not as good as its predecessor, but it fits well in the series, surpassing the original Batman Begins. Bane is a fascinating villain who adds the needed dark-sided interest to the story. Christian Bale is good as ever and is in fact the star of the movie, rather than the villain being the center. Overall a worthy finish to the trilogy.

This is the way a Batman Trilogy ought to have ended. With Batman getting old, and not ageless like in the comics and on tv, and one last hurrah to save the city he loves. But it takes Selina to get him to live again after the loss of Rachel. Bruce needs someone to live for, she provides the right mixture of antagonism to break him out of a deep seeded depression. Arthur sets him free by telling him the truth about Rachel choosing Harvey. The League of Shadows returns to finish their goal to crush Gotham. Bruce loses everything. He must learn one more important lesson to escape another hole in the ground: to fear death. Only then can he save Gotham and save himself. Just a beautiful story all around. Can't say enough about it, each part of the trilogy was individually outstanding for different reasons.

Coming from a comic book fan the story was a bit off, but for the most part it was right on the story of the comics (which is why I gave the story a good and not an excellent). It s a long movie so for that reason I wouldn't and didn't take my kids. As you can see I did recommend this movie and I would even recommend to see it agian, as I am doing tnight. :)

It's very hard to make a classic trilogy. Usually, the first film is the best, the second is a fair sequel, and the third is awful. Movie history is littered with such examples. I can only think of 2 trilogies that buck that trend: the Bourne films and the Lord of the Rings films. Now, we have a new example.
Christopher Nolan and crew set a new standard on what is possible with a comic book movie. The plot is intricate and well done with several surprises and an ending that had me cheering. This movie isn't as good as Dark Knight but how do you top near perfection? It tops Batmin Begins and is a worthy addition to the series.

I watched Batman Begins Thursday night and I'm really glad I did. This film does an excellent job of taking the mood of Dark Knight and adding in the themes of Batman Begins in a way to bring a satisfying ending to Nolan's trilogy. You feel as if the whole ride was worth the journey. But it was also done in a such a way to keep familiar Batman folklore in tact. The new players in this film (Hathaway, Gordon-Levitt, Hardy) were good additions. I'm still not in love with Bane's voice and the execution wasn't good. He always sounded like an off-screen narrator and it was never convincing that his voice was a natural part of the scenes. But, Bane was a very strong presence on screen and Wayne's heroic journey was deserved.

This movie was one of the best movies I've seen in a while. It kept you wondering and on the edge of your seat. The story line was great and it kept throwing you surprises. It had a bangin ending also. I was worried at first but it turned around. The movie was all together by far one of the best movies so far this year.

Nolan's work for the third of his Batman vision was quite a spectacle. The largest in scope of the three, this movie takes on intense themes. There is some pacing issues- not the least of it being the length- but overall this movie is excellent. On its own it is a very dark film, but as the ending to the trilogy, it is a fitting bookend.

The ending was absolutely amazing, as was the entire story line ! Definitely a must-see ! Although it was really long - was in the theater for damn near 3 hours.

The Dark Knight Rises maintains a compelling storyline with the Batman series. The consistency of the characters helps the viewer with the story and the special effects make the movie.
Serveral points in the movie requires the viewer's imagination to overlook the plausability of the situation. I would have liked to have seen more of villian, literally. Suspension bridges still standing with missing sections and a slow moving plot detract from an otherwise action packed movie with surprising twists.

Christopher Nolan has elevated the comic book genre to a higher level with all three of his Batman movies. This final installment brought a satisfying ending with some interesting surprises. Fantastic movie and I will see it several times at the theater. My only issue was during Bane's dialogue, the music overwhelmed, and I had trouble understanding him. That could just be my age showing -- by my third viewing I will understand everything he said.

I'm doubtless in the minority with this opinion, I'm sure...
Simply put - this film was over-engineered, poorly written, and horribly edited. Filled with one missed opportunity upon another, it was sad to see this excellent reboot (trilogy) fall flat at the end.
Batman was bereft of intrigue or mystery. The writers spent so much time focused on Bruce Wayne's weaknesses and short-comings that they completely emasculated the "superhero" when he was suited up. When facing the arch villain it was no longer plausible that he would stand a chance in a fair fight - a sad departure from earlier episodes that convincingly portrayed Wayne as emotionally traumatized yet physically menacing - up to the duties of the Dark Knight.
With few exceptions, plot-lines were so clumsily choreographed that I found myself predicting twists and turns with perfect accuracy long before they unfolded on-screen. Indeed, the only compelling character in the movie was the kid who is slated to become Robin (another plot turn that I saw coming a mile away). He (at least) had some stones.
As a lifelong "Batman guy", it pains me to admit that Tony Stark (Iron Man) would eat this Batman's lunch in a battle of billionaire vigilantes. The fight wouldn't even be close.
Sorry WB - "The Avengers" is 3x the movie, and any one of those characters more than a match for anyone (good or evil) presented in the Dark Knight Rises.

I'm trying not to be bias in favor the movie as a Batman fan, but as a movie fan. The story was solid and tied in the previous films well. The acting was excellent (Michael Caine, best supporting actor?). The action scenes were good, but could've been longer. An excellent way to setup for another reboot or to add another movie in the future. Must see. Must buy.
