The Dark Knight Rises was a great end to the Batman trilogy. The plot was suspenseful and the characters were well-developed. The story did a great job of introducing new characters as well as incorporating characters from the past two films. Bane was a great villian and the ending was both surprising and satisfying for fans.

A great ending to a very exciting trilogy. Truly worth seeing, I thought hat the characters and acting was very good. The story and directing in this series of films was what made them the best comic book series that were made in to films. The only things that I could say that I wasn't as crazy about were cat woman and bane. At times it was difficult to make out what he was saying. Those are big shoes to fill as the title villan following heath ledger in the last movie. Also I liked cat woman played by michelle phiffer better than the one played by anne hathway. Both did a good job with that character I just really liked the crazy edge that phiffer broughy in the 2nd batman movie. Regardless it is a fun movie to see. Go out and see it.

Comic book movies recently have been exploding and many people say they're better than ever which may be true. Unfortunately Comic films have also fallen into the trend of gimmicks and trying to take the audiences money while they're watching the movie. I've seen this many time from Tony Stark walking into Hulk to advertise avengers to me, Avengers stopping the credits to pick my pocket by advertising the next avengers, and DC also got into the habit with green lantern. We also need to suffer with characters who don't go beyond their superhero titles and are highly unrelatable. Fortunately this film is an amazing example of what comic films can be. It communicates to the fans while also speaking equally as much to the non fan. We also receive a good amount of natural life of the characters. I can believe these characters live, have hopes and dreams, fears. It's fantastically human. I never felt like i was being talked down to or sold other comic movies the entire time, I was able to simply enjoy the story without thinking "what does that mean? I guess I need to go buy that movie now" or "I better save money for the movie with that guy when it comes out". I'd like to go into great detail of certain parts that I highly enjoyed, but I'd rather not ruin any of the well placed surprises. As the last film of a trilogy there are things I expected and hoped wouldn't happen as nearly every director that has done the last of a comic trilogy create a terrible film with empty scenes and an ending that just leaves you feeling nothing (see X-Men 3 for example.....on second thought, don't...don't ever see it.). However this film gives a conclusion that let's you leave the theatre feeling fulfilled. After watching the film I'm constantly thinking of the ending and loving how complete it felt. without giving anything away, the ending just seemed right for the world Nolan created, I honestly don't think any other conclusion would have been just as good. the only issue I can really think of with the film is the same I've had with the others and that's Christian Bale's batman dialogue, I'm not the same person saying I don't like the sound as I like that he disguises his voice. Rather I wish he had fewer lines like Michael Keaton's Batman who used his actions more than his voice. this gripe is very small compared to every amazing thing in this film. the only other issue is the knowledge I have that Warner Brothers plans to reboot Batman very soon. I really want to just live with this trilogy for a while before a new movie comes in, and with the way comic films are going, I'm sure it'll be the basic selling to the audience nonsense all the other comic films are doing. this is unfortunate, but until we get the possible sale out Batman movies, we can enjoy the best comic book film made this year, perhaps even the best film in general. Also, I don't envy the director who will direct the next Batman, They have some very big shoes to fill.

I went into the movie with high expectations and it met them all. The only thing that bugged me was bane's voice, i diddnt think he would sound like sean connery. but otherwise i cant recommend the movie enough

The trilogy ending was outstanding! I think to fully understand this batman you should brush up and see Batman 1 again. It all comes together in Rises. Chilling surprises in the end... or is it the end? You have to see it to know! Best movie of the year hands down! Non stop action the whole movie! Outstanding!

Dark Knight Rises was a delight. I admittedly enjoyed the second film a bit more, largely because of Heath Ledger's fantastic performance, but this one was certainly "bigger" in both scope and effects.
This last movie didn't present the sort of palpable philosophical issues as the prior film either. Much more subtle moral questions were dealt with. The second film was so engrossing because of the way the Joker's extreme rejection of ethical codes was epically contrasted by the rigid ethical code of Batman.
Rises deals more with living with the consequences and sacrifices of choosing an ethical code without compromise. How choosing to do what is right can cost you everything, from loved ones, to fortunes, to even you freedom. It was dealt with well. As Bruce Wayne continued to recommit to his personal code after retiring from the world of vigilantism, that world began to collapse around him.
I think most people that choose to live their philosophy can appreciate this aspect of the story. For others not as interested, the action, technology, cinematography, and acting was just as well done in this as in others. And yes, Anne Hathaway was a fantastic Cat Woman.

I saw this movie last night, and I have to say; WOW. C. Nolan is an amazing director. Great effects, and camera work too. Even from the start of the movie, you are always on the edge of your seat. You can connect with all of the characters too, not just Batman. Its the must see movie of 2012. A++. For every Batman fan, it's a must see. And anyone who enjoys a good "film" and not just a good movie should go out and see it right now. Maybe even twice! Or more. For me, it lives up to the "Dark Knight". I hope that you'll enjoy it as much as I did.

A thrill ride and emotional at times. Love the Batman of now. I grew up on the actual comic books in the 70's and the TV show of course. The new movies are great while in no way making the past series seem silly. Batman is near and dear to we fans.

This never felt like a long movie. It was suspenseful, as I couldn't guess what was going to happen next, until the very end, and even then I wasn't sure. Well woven story with rich scenes, great acting, and camera work. Nothing hammy in this cinema sandwich.
I watched the ending and walked out thinking just how good the movie, and the series was. Christopher Nolan is an excellent story teller and movie maker.
Great work, don't miss it.

There is a lot to know and learn while watching The Dark Knight Rises. There are past foes, Gotham politics, new characters, flashbacks, hints, clues, subplots... There are callbacks to the 1960's TV show and borrowed scraps from the animated series. It's a full two hours and forty-four minutes.
For the fully immersed viewer there are rich rewards for your efforts. Characters are explored and evolved. Ideas are presented and dissected. It's a good story. It's a fantastic cast. The only drawback seems to be that even at nearly three hours you can't help but feel that the film could have use about fifteen more minutes to get its work done.
Yet for all this, the story succeeds in exhilarating rather than exhausting. All the throwaway name-checks and trivia bits feel fun rather than forced. Not a single speaking roll in this film is not filled by a name actor from shows as diverse as Dexter and Stargate SG1. It's like a party that Nolan invited you to attend.
I want to add at this point that the film was not shot in 3D and will not be post converted to 3D. The film benefits immeasurably from this decision. Its muted tones and rapid movement would leave most 3D audiences squinting and lost.
What surprised me was the naked and aggressive indictment of collectivism, Wall street cynicism and the general Raison d'être of the occupy movement. The film literally gives Occupy what it wants and serves up a rather bleak and ugly calculus of the results. While wandering through the looted trash of an upper class apartment after the film's midpoint, Anne Hathaway's Selina is asked who the formerly opulent apartment belonged to. She replies "...somebody rich...It's everyone's now...". Not very subtle.
Yet all-in-all The Dark Knight Rises stays ahead of politics and tells a story of personal conflict, directionlessness and growth. I won't spoil anything about the story but the 'rise' in question isn't Batman's. The film asks us mostly what fulfills us? What keeps us moving? And what do we do when life has apparently taken all of our motivations away from us. The answer is satisfying if not marginally perfunctory. I am man enough to admit that I dabbed at a tear or two through the credits. The conclusion is thoroughly satisfying if not totally canonical and manages to throw a curve ball or two.
My takeaway from The Dark Knight Rises?
Worth the three hours.
Pros well paced, great story, great actors, this is a dense ball of fun, corny dialog
Cons bad acting, too complex, nolan clearly has hearing problems, corny dialog

This story starts out in your face. As it goes on it really shows tha Bruce Wayne is extremely dedicated to protect the people instead of revenge. It had a really awsome ending that was a real suprise.

I'm very sad about the ending of this amazing Trilogy, of course. I've been a huge fan of Christopher Nolan but this movie just didn't follow the comics like it should have. Yes, i know they never followed the the comics very closely. But I he would have done a better job. Casting a better Catwoman would be nice. Anne Hathaway is an awful Catwoman. She didn't have the sex appeal and "badassness" that Catwoman usually has in the comics. The way they brought Talia into this movie made me a little disappointed but I love her in the comics. Overall this was a great ending to the Trilogy and i recommend watching it in the theaters.

A very deep and complex film that seems to focus more on what makes a super hero -- super. Is it having super powers and super gadgets or is it the ability to give one's soul to a cause? There really is no glory in being a superhero. Majority of Bruce Wayne's time is spent battling inner demons, lack of confidence, and his emotional pain/suffering than battling the true evil in Gotham. The acting and interaction between the characters are excellent. There is a much slower pace in this film, a lot of dialogue, downright depressing moments, and Bane is no where near the level of complexity of the Joker. However, it is still good entertainment, exciting, and stimulating. The last hour of the film is non-stop, intense and very satisfying action. There are very strong special effects, stunts, and visual effects. Although the Dark Knight Rises is unique in many ways in this series from the other two films, it does deliver an awesome conclusion to this series. With it being a rather dark film, certain moments were just so exciting and so emotionally uplifting. No words can describe how exciting it is to finally watch the Dark Knight "rise." A highlight was also hearing Batman admit to a certain someone that he was his hero and that person did not need a mask to be his hero. Although I heard complaints that Bane was hard to understand, I never thought so. In fact, I loved listening to him, and he had more of a Darth Vadar effect that I rather enjoyed.

The movie starts off with a bang and ends the same way. This middle is a little bit slow but the reason it is slow is definately worth it. This movie really ties together Bruce Wayne becoming the ultimate symbol "Batman". Not like in Batman Begins how Batman started but how Bruce Wayne really accepted that he and Batman are one in the same.
The story line was not something I was expecting. The way the story played out and how it came together seemed, at least to me, to bring the triology full circle.
The actors in this movie were fantastic. I had my doubts about Tom Hardy as Bane but the second he talked it was mezmorising. Christian Bale again showed his colors as the Dark Knight. Anne Hathawayas Selina Kyle was just awesome. She never let's the audience down. To the rest of the supporting cast again made the movie what it was.
I will definitely see it in the theater again.

I thought TDKR was pretty good. When you go to see it, realize this movie is almost 3 hours long. Unfortunately, I almost fell asleep a couple of times, as some of the dialogue gets really long and drawn out. The action scenes are pretty few and far between, but awesome. I honestly wouldve liked to see Batman kick more butt, and use more of his toys -- sorry, but thats just me. The story is very detailed. Takes a little while to get used to Bane's voice. When you first hear it, you may be very surprised as i was. Theres a couple scenes where the acting was sub par. I would see it again -- but Ill rent it next time.

The movie wraps up the final chapter very well. Good plot with some surprise twists. Loved Catwoman and Batman's new toy Bat. Overall, the movie is long and Bain is no Joker. Well acting, specially Michael Cain.
