I was really excited about this movie coming out I hoped it would explain more about the Alien's origin, but basically it was asking who do you believe created you? I did see religious undertones which was a plus. The actors needed better dialogue and the story definately needed more life to it, but overall it was enjoyable but for me the planet, the Prometheus and Alien ships were spectacular and the whole look of the solar system was awesome that was the true highlight of the film.

Cons slow, not enough alien

As a fan of the original Alien movie, I like these type of sci-fi thrillers.
Would like to have seen Charlize Theron's character be a bit more engaging but all in all it was a great movie!..certainly leaves teh door wide open for a sequel.

Not as much action as the previews depicted. The storyline attempted to make a religious statement, instead of staying true to the storyline of the alien legacy. Bad makeup on the old guy. The art in the movie looked like it could've been good, if they had actually showed it better. Instead it was masked by shadows so you could only get a glimpse of it.

I have never before spent so much time talking with people, really just about everyone I know who saw this, on how bad a film is. It is visually quite beautiful and there are scary moments but the story is such a mess from the first ridiculous scene to the last tacked on unnecessary moment.
The problem is not just the frustrating holes in the plot or unexplained elements but the totally illogical and nonsensical plot choices. The more I think of this moving the more maddening it is. I think this movie bothers me so much because it could have been good if someone just applied common sense to the script.
if the goal of the movie was to provoke discussion, it succeeded. However I doubt the intent was for people to spend all their time discussing how bad it was.

After watching the movie it was insightful and good. The movie itself for the dialogue was very well done and the subtext and emotional barrier brought with you while you watch the movie. I would say this movie lacked action mostly but i believe that is because this is more of an informational movie to help bring the mystery of what was rather than what will be. It answered questions while opening whole new doors of questions that will not possibly see answers. The special effects were very well done and did not feel cheesy. The acting was okay and excellent in some parts The story itself brought to light a whole new area of insight into what was however for a personal note, I figured out the secret in the first 30 seconds of the movie which for myself was a let down however my fiance loved the movie as a whole.

It's one of the worse I've spent $50 bucks on, cuz movies are expensive now a days and to sit for 83 min. and be bored out our minds, makes it 10x worse! I am so dissaponted in Ridley Scott, I thought cuz he's got a tremendous reputation I was in for a ride. How very dissapointing, it was gawd aweful.
