This was a sorry jumble of half-baked plot devices and hack writing. It would have been better as a silent movie because the imagination of a 10-year-old could have come up with a better story for the excellent cinematography and special effects.

A visual stunner. Fans of the Alien movies might be somewhat let down because there is very little of those ugly dudes that gave Ripley all those problems. Instead, Prometheus stands on its own as a major wow factor of a movie. A little slow moving and confusing at times, but worth the price of admission.

Lots of people went into this movie apprehensively because they were not sure what to expect, and Ridley Scott certainly didn't disappoint. From the beginning, Scott captures the viewer's attention with a tall human-like alien that commits suicide. The entire movie adds more and more to the Alien folklore that so many have come to enjoy. Although this is not a direct prequel to the "Alien" movies, a lot of questions are still answered (but not so much that Scott leaves the viewer with nothing to hope for). Scott sets up the movie perfectly so that he has the possibility of creating another movie to follow after or to end the story there.
Definitely recommend this movie!

When it comes to technical wizardry and sheer visual spectacle, Prometheus unequivocally delivers. Unlike any of the sequels between it and the original, Prometheus is a horror movie first and foremost, gnawing at subconscious terrors even as your conscious mind attempts to bat it away. Master director Ridley Scott creates a riveting ride while Michael Fassbender steals the show. A thigh-clenchingly frightening science-fiction epic as well as a ruminative, soul-baring existential study that's not afraid to ask the tough questions. A must see.

Watched it overseas. If you ever were and ALIEN movie fan do not miss this one. Action is incredible, cinematography mind blowing. By passed my exceptions by far. And the best part is that it seems like this is a first movie and a squeal is already in plans. Which makes this movie even more exciting.WOW WOW WOW! A MUST MOVIE TO WATCH IN A THEATER!!
