Implied homosexuality. This movie is also very promiscuous in nature. The one guy was near nude in many scenes in the movie. I do not agree with a PG rating. There are some movies that come on television that are rated PG13 and are more tasteful this this trash. If the tickets weren't so expensive I would have viewed it before taking my children. I was very disappointed.

Overall, my 8 year daughter and I really enjoyed this movie and we were very entertained. As others noted there were some mature themes throughout. The few sexual references were not overt. The references to death were less subtle (and at least for me) ended up in several questions from my daughter (Mom....what does death smell like?). The MPAA PG rating does include scary action and images, thematic elements, some rude humor and language. I would agree. Parents should watch the trailor and read reviews, then make an informed decision based on the maturity level of their kids.
Pros well paced, great story, great actors

This movie should be PG13. I would not recommend kids under the age of 10 going to see this. It is scary, rude, sexual and creepy. I took a 6 and 8 year old and we walked out.

I took my 9yr old son. As a parent, I found much of the content to be entirely inappropriate and unnecessary. There were far too many sexual references and there were many times where a collective gasp could be heard from parents throughout the theater. It would be nice to view a trailer and/or read a review that actually reveals the true nature of the film. I've certainly learned my lesson and will no longer trust the reviews provided by the industry. I will now rely upon reviews from other parents. With the rising cost of admission, I can't afford to waste any more money.

This movie disappointed me greatly. I took my 6 year old twin boys to see it and was disgusted by some of the mature conduct. What's the purpose of putting the word jackass in a PG movie? Why is it needed? On top of that, there were references to an 11 yr old boys "private time" with his moms aerobic videos and a reference to homosexuality at the end of the movie. Why?? Again I ask, what purpose or connection does that serve for the movie? It's ridiculous!! Besides the "don't bully" lesson it's trying to portray in the story line, everything else was too mature for PG viewers.

Went to this movie with wife, 11 year old son, and 8 year old daughter. Everybody in our party loved the movie, laughed a lot and would definitely recommend to friends. Not all lighthearted with some deeper meaning to the plot, but overall very fun.

Overall, ParaNorman was a really good movie. It entertained the whole family. Scary but not too scary for our 6 and 8 year old. There were a couple of references between the teenaged characters that made me cringe as a parent watching with a 6 and 8 year old, but the comments and references seemed to go over my children's heads.
