I thought this movie was going to be scary but it wasn't. But overall I really enjoyed it from beginning to end. I like the storyline as well. It kept me at the edge of my seat!
This movie was fun. I liked the characters, the storyline and the setting. It is a true thriller a la Hitchcock. Most of you don't remember him but he was the thriller king!! The actors did a great job and I was totally involved in the movie with them. Popcorn, candy, a drink, my Honey and a great movie; what could be better!!
The horror/thriller genre sees a lot of blood and gore, cheap scares, and while even B rated horror movies have a home with audiences, it's movies like this that stand out among the rest. With a Hitchcock feel, HATES brings you on a believable journey into every day life, when you're living next door to a potential murderer that is. With a solid script, great actors, and a director who wants to tell you a story and not just throw things at the screen with loud music to back it up, the audience is treated to a much needed mental thrill in a world full of mindless scares.
Pros well paced, great story
Yes, I recommend this movie.

As my title reflects, I have seen worse. If you are looking for an award-winning film, this is not it. I did appreciate the twist - but felt there could have been a better way to go about the reveal.
Yes, I recommend this movie.

The movie was just Ok. To me it was rather slow moving. It didn't make me jump out of my seat. The story line wasn't bad, but I wouldn't recommend it. I would tell you to wait for netflix and rent it !!
Cons slow
No, I do not recommend this movie.

Who ever thought a PG-13 Horror movie would be very good? It really was though. Aside from the younger kids giggling throughout the movie at all the bad words like "dickhole", the movie itself was suspensful and kept you going all the way til the end. In fact, the ending was quite a shocker! My husband and I loved this movie!
Pros well paced, great story, great actors, surprising ending!
This PG-13 scare-fest is more psychological terror than blood and guts, and should satisfy-not repulse-young genre fans. Though The House at the End of the Street is smarter than most films of the genre, it still has some fairly predictable plot turns, which is why most should just save their money and wait for the dvd.
