I enjoyed the movie from start to finish. Some of the movie was based on the first move but the story line was significantly different.

Yes, the eventual plot of the movie is different from the original, but have done a hell of a job adapting this script to the screen. Great show!

I didn't see the older one of this, but I enjoyed this one. I thought that there were great actors. There was awesome action and visual effects of the futuristic world. I liked the story. There is plot twists that are pretty good in this movie, and just surprising moments. A good length to this flick. A lot of cool futuristic technology that the makers thought of. So overall a good movie.

I was looking forward to this remake of the Arnold classic but could barely make it through the entire movie. I was extremely bored as it all seemed to just be action shots and very little plot or character development. I'd wait till it's out on DVD and then only if there isn't anything else to watch on the 500 channels of cable now available.

Hey... I loved the original Arnie version too. Unfortunately, they didn't make this a stand-alone move (easily done with a few plot adjustments)... so people compare it to the relatively-recent original. On its own, this movie kicks. Kate is outstanding in her role (and is a great extention on her bad-ass Underworld movies). Farrell is a great casting, Jessica is Ok-to-fine. The special effects are up there with current standards (Transformers/IronMan). Lots of fun... go see it... let it stand on its own without comparing it to the original.

I have seen the original version several times and have always loved it. Really didn't know what to expect this time, and really didn't think it would be as good. It absolutely blew me out of the water! The special effects were astounding, and so action packed, I didn't have time to get bored. There were a couple of things that carried over from the original version, which I won't give away here, but I thoroughly enjoyed it. The only reason I didn't give the dialogue an Excellent rating is because in a few places, it was a little hard for me to understand when they were talking fast over a lot of background noise (I am a Southerner - I talk a little slower ;D). There was some brief nudity, but nothing we were not warned about in the ratings. I would not consider it suitable for a child due to that and the violence. However, would totally recommend this movie to anyone who loves SciFi action adventure.

Ok I'm 59 and a big fan of the original Total Recall, but that doesn't mean I don't look forward to good remakes. The special effects and make up in the original look sort of dated now so I was hoping they'd come up with something fresh, but still stick to the main feeling of the original movie. I like Colin Farrell and was excited about seeing it. In the original there was something that Quaid knew that could help the planet. They allude to this in this movie, but never tell what it is. And the girl popping up with the three breasts?? Why?? Was she a mutant? Not as far as I know. As far as I could see, there weren't any in this movie. So they stick her in there just to capitalize on the first one?

This movie was not bad but it was nothing special either. Basic story with the kind of acting and situations you would expect from this kind of content.
The acting was good and the world itself was interesting to see.
However, it was predictable (even if you've never seen the original) and just didn't build that certain summer movie intensity.
A rental in my opinion.

It was the typical special effects laden action fest that has become the norm in Hollywood in this genre. Enough so that it's not really special any longer. The acting was a little wooden and the story felt flat and somewhat unrealistic. Most of the dialogue, even when lifted from the original, didn't come off well. The action scenes are worth a watch and you'll find yourself drumming your fingers during everything else. There's no real sense of suspense during the slower scenes and nothing about the actors really draws you in. For such a richly executed world there's never a chance to really see it and get caught up in the enviroment either (say ala Blade Runner). In the end it's great if you have nothing else to do and can get through the first bits until the action kicks in and, basically, just forget plot and story which is by far secondary in this film. Just go and watch it like a fireworks display and you'll be satisfied. You won't be thrilled but you'll be satisfied.

Total Recall turned out better than expected.
I went in thinkin, "oh, here we go again" with another lame attempt at a remake. However, I was wrong in that original thought as I felt the story was actually better, (to me anyway) than the original.
Special effects wise, it was visually awsome I thought.
And by far Kate Beckinsale is the HOTTEST bad gal out there man, (I hope she reads this, LOL) she can chase me around anyday.
This movie by far was not epic, but it is one worth seeing for some summer movie viewing honestly.
Check it out and judge for yourselves.

This movie was a poor attempt to remake a classic movie. There were elements of about 8-10 other movies packed into this almost like a farce. The CGI work was excellent, but could not hold up the poor dialogue and acting of Colin. Even as a guy, I thought his best moment was when he had his shirt off. And the two actresses could interchange and we'd still not notice because they are practically twins. This movie should have went straight to DVD and then still sold for $3. Wait until it is on Netflix, then it's worth watching for a good laugh while you review it with friends.

The movie had a lot of otherly influences: Blade Runner, the original Total Recall, and the fights scenes looked like they were right out of the Bourne trilogy of movies. But the acting was good, the ladies were gorgeous, the story seemed true enough to the book and it was a totally enjoyable 2 hours of entertainment.

This movie was just terrible. I know it has big shoes to fill, but the action packed mess bears little resemblence to the joyride classic that was one of Arnold's best. Jessica Biel is the only glimmer.

It started out great. I was looking for more reference to the first movie with Arnold. I thought it was headed in that direction but it never got there. The special effects were great. I left feeling disappointed.
