I took a school group to go see this film. We had kids in grades K-5. The movie was accessible to all students and teachers alike! There was a great balance between tense action scenes and comic relief. The characters were well-acted, clearly portrayed and consistent. The plot was simple enough to follow, but complicated enough to remain interesting. Good messages hidden within: just because someone is different doesn't make him bad or less of a person; sometimes girls can be the strongest people around; doing the right thing isn't always easy, but it's still worth doing.

What the reviews don't tell you about this movie is that the 7 Dwarfs steal the damed thing and make it enjoyable.
Julia Roberts' performance gets tire about ten minutes in and Lily Collins is out-acted by her creepy, bushy eyebrows.
But the little guys keep you laughing and you end up forgiving all the other fault in the film.

I took my 6 year old girl and 3 year old boy to see it and they both liked it! The 3 year old had his first movie ever and was quiet the entire time. He asked to go to the movies again the very next day! Everyone is giving praise to Julia Roberts for doing an excellent job as a villian and for good reason. Go see it!

I FOUND THIS MOVIE TO BE ADULT FRIENDLY SO IT WAS NOT BORING AT THE SAME TIME KID FRIENDLY. MY 7YO LOVED IT. THOUGH I THOUGHT THE TWIST ON CINDERELLA WAS A BIT CONFUSING AND SHOULDVE BEEN THE SAME ENDING.

I love Julia Roberts and was excited to be able to see her in a new movie, but was pretty disappointed. It was cute, but slow moving and lacked the humor it could have had with what was written, it just wasn't delivered quite that well. Too bad, great cast!

No surprises here, just a fun and funny piece of PG eye candy. A romantic panto-style romp through goody-gum drops land, full of the best natured fun you'll find on the big screen, and with an inspired performance from Julia Roberts.

I loved the movie. Julia Roberts was awesome. The seven dwarfs were so cool and funny. I had 4 children with me and we all just loved the movie. I think we will actually see it again!!!!!

The movie overall was a bit of a let down story and excitement wise. It is disney though. The set and costumes were over the top till the very end when it got cheesey with all the silk flowers on everyone. All and all was a great escape into a different world.

This was a fun and empowering twist to Disney's original Snow White. The princess saves the prince, the dwarves steal for a living, and the apple is never bitten.
I took my 4-year-old daughter who enjoyed the movie very much. The plot was within her grasp, and she loved the slapstick comedy from the dwarves. It was also nice for me to explain to her that the princess had courage, and took matters into her own hands.
Lily Collins is beautiful and talented. She delivers with such ease and elegance that it looks easy; the comparisons to Audrey Hepburn are evitable. Nathan Lane was great, as always. Armie Hammer was a great pick as the handsome and humorous prince.
I absolutely disagree with the consensus that Julia Roberts was a good choice as the evil queen: her "accent" was spotty, her delivery was haphazard, and her "wickedness" was mediocre. I think she was more "evil" in some of her romantic comedies (pick one, they're all the same). It felt as if no one directed her because they were afraid she'd pull from the movie. She made the movie lose a star for me!

My husband and I saw this movie together. We absolutely loved it! I do not particularly care for Julia Roberts, but she did a great job as the bad guy! Some twists to the traditional story, but it was fantastic! However, I do not recommend this film for children under 13 as the plot might be confusing to them.

I went to this movie with my 14 yr. old daughter. The movie was a bit disappointing, although Julia Roberts' acting was good, and the dresses that Roberts' character wore were absolutely beautiful! As usual, Nathan Lane did a great job acting. Lilly Collins did not do the best job acting and doesn't really have the best look for the character, so I am surprised she is the one that was cast for this role. The plot was a little flat, and the movie was a little more dreary than I had expected. The mix of fantasy and old fashioned scenery/wardrobe with the futuristic type of special effects didn't really make sense and wasn't that enjoyable. If this is a play on a Disney film, then the acting (and look) of the main character and the plot should have been outstanding. The special effects and cinematography were pretty good. If you like the original Snow White, you may be disappointed with this. It did not live up to the great advertisements and movie trailer, which is what actually what got me into the theater.

I took my twin 10 year old daughters there and we all enjoyed it. It's a very nice family movie, funny in parts and VISUALLY beautiful to watch as well.

The kids and I enjoyed the film. It kept my 5 and 7 yr. old entertained. I liked the change made in Snow White's character. Snow White becomes proactive and wants to make changes for her dying kingdom that is under the control of a selfish, self-centered Queen. Instead of her being a naive victim she is seeking help for a greater purpose beyond herself. It is a humorous film in its own way. I do believe that this movie is tailored for an older audience than for young children. Overall we all enjoyed the vanity of the Queen, the Mirror,the quite embarrassed Prince and all the interesting characters in this version.

My fiance and I went to see this movie. It was interesting, entertaining and had good morale. Yes, there are thieving bandits and some mild violence but it's about a wicked queen who deminishes the confidence of Snow White and Snow White reclaims her confidence - and her kingdom. Julia Roberts was absolutely perfect in her role and looked amazing! The movie flowed well and kept us wanting more. I will definitely buy the DVD- it's something you could watch a few times!

not your traditional snow white retelling. earned the pg rating, I would have gone PG-13. LOTS of adult humor &sexual innuendo. the prince is shirtless down to his navel 3 times, the 7 dwarves are thieving bandits who attack strangers in the woods, and 1 scene 1 of them comes home drunk from a bar and several scenes of them shirtless too. there is lots of fighting and swordplay, but no bloodshed and no violent killing, but there is a rather scary, detailed CGI dragon/monster in the climax scene that is attacking snow white and they left in the part where she was taken to the woods to be murdered under orders of the queen who clearly says "I want her killed." there are several funny parts where my 5 & 6 yo laughed, but it was from the dwarves facial expressions mostly, they missed all the jokes and got bored about 2/3rds of the way through. love the female empowerment message of snow white, but it doesn't show up until the last 1/3 of the movie. really not for under 13
