The acting is suburb & the cinematography, costumes, and special effects are beautiful, truly indicative of how a fairy tale would be imagined. Even though you know the ending, it was intriguing to view the story presented this way. There were some liberties taken in the dialogue, but was fun & overall fitting for the period being presented. The dwarfs were a hoot, and the twist on their characters is really creative.
Pros great story, great actors

The movie had an interesting storyline which was entertaining. Julia Roberts and the entire cast did a wonderful job with their roles. The costumes and makeup was absolutely magnificent. The story of a princess who stood by her standards to do good for the town people and fight for what is right was touching. The queen who played a different role to take from the people, marry for money and hurt people made the movie more entertaining. Overall, the movie was great.

This is a family movie geared to a younger audience. Its cute alright and at times a bit funny, but its not a comedy. Its a retold fairy tale with some major changes. None of the actors really had much to work with. The script and directing were middling with no surprises, except one. After the movie ends, the director, Tarsem Singh has the cast do a Bollywood song and dance number. Wait for the dvd or blue ray.
No, I do not recommend this movie.
