Absolutely love the movie. Saw it Friday and Saturday. I can deal with some of the story changes made to accommodate the movie. I feel it was very well done. The actors did a phenominal job. Full of all the emotion I was hoping for. This movie is better watched on a regular screen vs. ultra due to the unsteady camera action in many of the scenes. But making it that way makes you feel like you are there with Katniss, so I get it. I do plan on watching it again in the theatre and absolutely cannot wait for the next movie. Bravo!

This was an outstanding adaptation of the book. The changes from book to film were appropriate and, often times, necessary. I was slightly disappointed that one of the most riveting scenes from the book, for me at least, was included but wasn't. Didn't take away from the overall experience of the film though. Also thought the cast was amazing and there didn't seem to be a miscast in the bunch. Job well done!

After seeing how Hollywood butchered Lighning Thief, I was scared for Hunger Games. I thought they did an excellent job at keeping salient moments of the book. There would have been a hue and cry if they had not! I liked the emotion they were able to capture and Katniss did a great job. Haymitch was surprisingly well cast, but we get to know him better in the book. I cannot wait for Catching Fire.

The Movie hit all the important plot points of the book. It took out what wasn't needed for the story to continue, but the flow wasn't there because of this, they took alot of info and shoved it at the audience. If you haven't read the book, a lot of the "why is this happening" can go over your head.
The flash backs are the best examples of this.
Other than that, The action was extremely well done, They kept it real, but made sure not to focus on the death scenes.
Over all the movie was right up there with the best, and the directors can learn from the mistakes made in this one and correct them in the next.

Can't wait for the next installment. Will see another several times, some in an IMAX theater. The only way this movie could get better is if it were in 3D. The fast cuts and jerky camera from the beginning made it seem, at least initially, that the viewer is in the movie.

The movie was great, as expected, but the reason I'm even bothering to write a review is because I wanted to comment on how the movie was filmed... I had a difficult time with the fact that the camera shots were seldom steady. I understand they were trying to capture the actors' points of view, but it became very difficult to follow. Also, as a result of the quick, constant camera movements, many scenes were slow to focus. I felt like I needed to sit further away than I did - and I was in the middle of the theater. This format of filming was throughout the entire movie. Needless to say, I walked out of the movie with a slight headache; a "car sickness" sensation.

This movie was fantastic. If you read the book, you will be happy it stays true. If you didn't, you aren't missing anything. Great job on this one! One note: if you get motion sickness, it may be difficult to see on a big screen. It was a little rough on me but I held it together.

The acting was superb. After reading the books (I devoured them in a week) I felt the tension Katniss was feeling up to the start of the games, the desperation and the horror that 24 kids were about to try to murder each other. While there was a slight romantic aspect depicted, Gary Ross did an excellent job of conveying Katniss' reluctance with Peeta. I can't wait for the next two movies, while Twilight was vapid, this was energetic, had real depth, and engaging.

This was the best movie I've ever saw! It kept you on your toes, but wasn't as bloody or gory as you would think, which was good. It would help if you read the book, but the movie was still amazing! Lived up to it's potential and I would definetly recommend this to anyone!

This movie was great. It was very fast paced for a movie that is 2 hours and 22 minutes long. The storyline was great and I was worried I wasn't going to be able to follow seeing I haven't read the book but no worries! It explains perfectly well why The Hunger Games are played!

A movie where some of the violence was toned down from the book... yet kept on the edge of your seat. The viewer was instantly apart of District 12 reaping, and the contrast to the Capitol's indulgent spectacle! I took a tons of TEENS and they loved it!! From the costumes, weapons, battles, to the hearthrobs (a credit to Hutcherson's acting ability--while he doesn't fit the Peeta look or brawn from the book-his heart for the character was spot on). Katniss was every bit of the independent threat featured.... and WOW roles by Lenny Kravitz, Donald Sutherland, and Woody Harrelson were terrific ADDs to this cast!

I've desperately been counting the days down until this movie came out; I was not disappointed! There were discrepancies between the movie and the book but that was to be expected. I feel like since I did read the book I was able to appreciate it more, so if you're wavering on whether to read it first I say DO IT! It's only 384 pages, so it's not as arduous as Twilight or Harry Potter.

I hated this movie!!! I was completely unaware of the storeyline so to say that I was blomdsided bu this movie is.an understatement. It is sickening that a storey about kids forced to kill other kids in order to survive an annual event for entertainment to the capital is unbelievable.
The emotional anguish everyone endures is heart breaking.
In addition, our society is raving about kids slaughtering other kids and love it. What does that say about the level of desensitivity our society is at! I find it frightening.

This movie followed the story line very well, however the constant jerking movement of the camera was very annoying at the begining of the movie as well as in the fighting sceens. Acting was great except for the actor who played Gale, who gave a imature performance. After reading the books I expected much more violence and was actually disappointed at the lack of violence. Glad I saw it, will want to see the next two movies (Hopefully made), as I expect they will correct the unsteady camera and the actors will be much more into their roles and we will see the spark between them.

The movie overall was descent. There were some parts that did make me yawn. But when it comes to the hunger games it got so epic!!!! After I read all the books I thought it would be such a bad movie. I WAS WRONG!!!! It was epic!!! I am going to watch it again. I love the actors Josh Hutcherson and Jennifer Lawrence!!!! They are such GREAT ACTORS. I am going to pre-order the DVD!!!! Overall I give the movie a 9.5/10!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I love these books. I was worried about the movie because I wasn't sure if they were going to keep it close to the book, but they did. And I really liked how close it was. I mean I knew what was going to happen, but I still jumped out of my seat a few times. There were a few things that they showed differently than I remembered but overall they really kept the script as close to the book as possible.
