Skyfall started out with a great storyline and great suspense. It held my interest throughout the whole movie. The action & actors were great and the special effects were awesome. (I'm not a great 007 fan but my husband is, so I went along. We also took 2 friends that thought the title 'Skyfall' sounded interesting then when they found out it was 007 they were not thrilled...but they LOVED it and said it was a surprisingly great movie). Go see it! It's worth the money. It's over 2 hours and keeps you interested the whole time!

In the previous two installments of this 're-boot' of the Bond franchise ("Casino Royale" and "Quantum of Solace"), we've been introduced to a Bond who is at the beginning of his career as an operative for MI6. We've seen him come to understand what it means to enter this particular 'profession' - the change it forces, in a man's soul, and the things that most normal folks take for granted that are precluded to those who walk this dark path.
In this film, we see a Bond who has accepted his new life and then been forced to roll with an unexpected punch. Unlike the villain in this film, Bond's reaction is one of understanding coupled with loyalty to his country and to his superiors in spite of what has befallen him. Craig's acting is - as the Brits say - 'bang-on', in depicting the inner turmoil and other personality aspects of Bond at this stage in his career.
The film also (gratefully, for this 50-year Bond fan!) brings back some of the gadgets, and a hint of the characteristic Bond humor - a facet of personality that such a man would be forced to adopt, simply to cover the inner turmoil of his life - that were lacking in the first two Craig outings.
The action sequences are well staged - the motorcycle chase being a welcome alternative to the traditional car-chase sequences - and the cinematography is at times utterly breath-taking, but always gorgeous.
The only thing that this film truly lacked was a decent title-track. Sadly, Adele does not nearly live up to the standards set by others before her, most notably Chris Cornell's "You Know My Name". That, however, is not a reason to forego catching this film on the big screen.
I caught a recent interview with Sir Roger Moore - veteran of 5 Bond films in his own right - who proclaimed "Skyfall" "...simply put, the best Bond film ever made." I can't find a single reason to disagree.

This was a really good Bond Movie, and Daniel Craig captures the essence of Bond very nicely. While there wasn't as much intrigue with the female Bond girls (they were practically non-existent except for very brief, g rated flirtations), the villain was fabulously creepy. Not quite enough surprise or technical flash for a 5 star rating, but it did have some of the old memorabilia that was nice. I'll definitely keep coming to see them as long as they will make them.

Skyfall is a big movie. Bond films move the plot along with a series of major scenes. They highlight the things we love about the 007 world, violence, sleek technology, beautiful women and the glitzy world of super criminals.
But in Skyfall every scene is a powerful mini-movie in itself, although they're well balanced so that the movie flows well. In other Bond films, some of the scenes lapse a bit and the story lags. Not so in Skyfall. The plot here slams from one major battle to the next, climaxing with the final shootout and a very significant ending.
Bond films are terribly addictive. Hopefully there won't be any more studio bankruptcies to slow down production of the next one.

The story was slow in spots and almost boring. There was very little action overall in the film. I car more about Bond the spy than Bond the man. Very predictable sequences. Still enjoyable but lackikng the flash of past Bond movies. Maybe you should wait for the video.

Skyfall is the standard by which all other Bond movies should be measured. It's what every Bond movie before it aspired to be. Even the best of the best in the Bond series can't compete with how excellently the movie was written, acted and delivered.
Written during the writer's strike gave enough time to write a gripping, emotional, exciting, and all-around well-balanced screenplay into which Dame Judi Dench, Daniel Craig and Javier Bardem breathe exquisite life.
Sounds, sights, gags and one liners are back along with nail-biting action, crazy stunts and beautiful women to make this one of the best movies of 2012. Whatever you do for the rest of the season, make a point to get to the theater and see Skyfall. You will NOT be disappointed.

Welcome back James. I am a Bond fanatic and while I was told that Skyfall was better than the recent Casino Royale, I cannot agree. But Skyfall is still a great way for Bond to return to the screen. After the nonsensical Quantum of Solace, I'm sure we were all a bit skeptical but Skyfall has saved the 007 franchise. Daniel Craig and Javier Bardem are great together, the chase scenes are excellent, the Bond women are smart and sexy (so what's new?) and Dame Judy Dench is brilliant. And a nod to the Bond films of the past was greatly appreciated. Even Sean Connery would be proud of this film.

I have seen every Bond movie since "Live and Let Die" at the theater and the previous ones on TV and DVD. Skyfall is by far, the best of the franchise. Skyfall combines the best of the previous Bond movies with a nice series reboot at the end. The acting by Dame Judi Dench is superb. Daniel Craig is now my favorite Bond. The action sequences are typical of the Bond franchise excellence. The shot of Bond approaching the Floating Dragon casino is beautiful as it the fight scene in the Shanghai tower.
If you are a James Bond or an action movie fan, this is a must see. If you have never seen a Bond movie, this a good one to start. I think it is one of this year's best.

I became a Bond fan due to my husband's obsession, so while I am not a Bond expert/enthusiast, I have certainly gained an appreciation for the series. With that said, as far as Daniel Craig Bond films go, "Skyfall" lands somewhere between "Casino Royale" (awesome) and "Quantum of Solace" (okay).
The title song "Skyfall" by Adele, combined with the imagery used, definitely sets the tone for the film and evokes images of earlier Bond themes. (This is a good thing. Academy Award Nomination for Best Song?)
Javier Bardem makes for an interesting villain and there is definitely a groundbreaking scene between Bond and Silva (Bardem), but at times I did not feel his motivation was strong enough to propel his actions throughout the film.
Also, of the three Craig Bond films, this one has the most throwbacks to the campier feel of the Bond films of yore (e.g, cheesy lines, over-the-top villainy). Could this be the Sam Mendes (director) effect, or were these throwbacks merely because it was the 50th anniversary? (I'd like to think it was the latter.)
The Bond girls seemed to have very insignificant parts in this film and were not very memorable.
The ending (again, don't want to give anything away) is definitely an emotional one and launches the Bond series in a new direction, while tying it closer to the past.
All in all, the film was enjoyable, but all of the pre-show hype (e.g., previews, lines at the theater, Adele theme song) had me so excited that I expected to be on the edge of my seat from beginning to end... and I wasn't.

I really loved this movie! I think the best part about it is that you don't necessarily need to see the others in order to get the humor. I have been a long fan of these films and I have thoroughly enjoyed the chemistry between 007 and M. Course there are all the usual elements of a Bond film... the humor, the action, the amazing stunts and special effects, the twists and turns, etc...
I highly recommend seeing this movie! I look forward to many more to come in the future.

Fun, Fun, Fun! This was every bit as wonderful as I wanted it to be, waiting much too long between Bond films. Loved the opening sequence and titles. I would have liked a stronger motivation for the villain, but Javier Bardem was extraordinary--funny and crazy and lethal...really scary. The depth of character development was refreshing. Loved the new Q and other new characters and enjoyed Bond's healthier, more believable relationships with colleagues and peers. I would have liked more screen time with Berenice Marlohe. I think she broke my heart. And as for anyone who thinks this is too long: Get screened for diabetes. Except for having to pee, there is no such thing as a too-long Bond film!

The opening sequences in the recent Bond movies are legendary. Skyfall is no exception. What a start! Don't come late!
Daniel Craig is again a dynamite 007. The female leads are also superb, with a couple of surprises from them late in the film. And Javier Bardem ranks among the best bad guys in Bond movie history.
This is a fast paced, loud and immensely enjoyable movie.

This movie definitely makes it into my top 5 Bond films of all time. I'm not sure exactly where it lands on that list, but it's on there. It hits all the right notes, reintroducing old characters, introducing some new ones, incorporating an excellent soundtrack that finally makes full use of the Bond theme often and giving us an ending that carries real emotional weight, while also setting us up for some grand times in the future of this series. Javier Bardem is easily one of the best villains in the series history, and director Sam Mendes was apparently the right man to put Bond back on top. I can't wait to see what comes next. Blofeld, please.

While the new Bond, Daniel Craig has taken the character back in line with the original intent of creator Ian Fleming, he has also been able to add his own special ways into creating the character.
The storyline and script follow more with the original Bond novels, and rely more on plot than Special Effects. All of the characters and the portrayals are Very Strong. The bedding of the women, more discreet, the social trauma(s) of characters more pronounced. From the sick and twisted Villain (who obviously has gay undertones) was not 'camp' or ridiculous but spot on. M shows a human side, while retaining calm, if a tad manipulative. Bond shows he is real and can have faults.
There are nice subliminal touches to all Bonds past... and bringing alive old bits into the new film. All in all, this film which is Daniel Craig's third time around, can easily be compared to that of Connery's third time bout as well. Like GOLDFINGER, SKYFALL ranks - thus far - as Craig's best... and is an equal worthy to Connery's best against Goldfinger. Kudos also go to the director Sam Mendes who brought a new sleek stylization much like Guy Hamilton. Also, Adele's very memorable Basseyesque song style is fabulous. All in All a Fantastic 50th Anniversary Tribute to the Iconic 007!

If you're a Bond fan, your thrilled to have ANY movie to see after the long hiatus. And, it looks like the franchise was worth saving! Great story, great acting, great lines and great nods to the previous movies. Sure, it was a little over 2 hours but where would you cut without losing the fun and heart of the movie? Javier Bardem was both creepy and terrifying. Dame Judy was terrific as usual. So nice to see the director and actors weren't afraid to look their ages. Can't wait to see it AGAIN!!

The majority of our James Bond films are typically predictable leaving movie fans and film goers with a lot of action sequences, hot women and mediocre plot lines. Hold the phone, THAT's what James Bond films are though and that's exactly why we keep going. It's great, is it not?
This film had the good grace to bridge the old with the new while giving film fans the sense that the intensely exciting Bond series is finally intertwining itself with modern warfare. The threat, actions, scenarios and characters are believable thus pulling you deeper into the film. The tying enables not only a more charismatic enjoyment of the film but also a darker sense of familiarity as we all can imagine such events within our environments.
I had the pleasure of sitting behind an older couple enjoying their long lusted Bond thrills who both gasped and clasped when a certain icon made its appearance while I - as a viewer - also felt more connected to the coherency of the villain in regard to today's modern evils.

I generally don't go into a 007 film with too many expectations of plot and storyline, let alone acting, but Skyfall very early set a new standard for Bond flix. The acting was superb, and the storyline was stronger than most especially in the post Ian Fleming era. Often the effects take over the effort to the point the action and effects ARE the movie, but not in this one. Pretty thrilling to the end, however there were lots of indicators where it was going to end up! For any 007 fanatics this is a must. Sean Connery and Daniel Craig define Bond better than any other claimants to the throne!

For someone who has not read the Ian Fleming novels, Skyfall was a complete surprise. I had thought James Bond sprang fully formed from the mind of M - but no, "orphans make the best agents." The psychological aspects were one of the many intriguing components of this film. Another was the villain - eccentric, brilliant, evil - everything a James Bond villain should be! Go see Skyfall for the action and the secret agent thriller. You will leave with a better understanding of James Bond the man.

Probably the best Bond film in awhile. Craig plays a great edgy Bond. I loved how they adapted the plot to modern themes. The one liners were great and classic Bond. The bad guy was believable and not ridiculous as past villains had been. I actually understood why he wanted revenge and did not blame him for it.
