Tom Cruise has latched on to the best platform for his fans so we should see many more Mission Impossible films in the future. The writing, acting, stunts and photography were all Five Star. I am sure there were some computer graphics involved but they were seamless with the live action shots.
I did see the IMAX version and it appeared that only a few scenes were shot in true IMAX so if you want to save a few dollars avoid the IMAX and just see the "regular" version.
Overall the movie is well worth the ticket price and although it is over 2 hours long it did not drag at all.

I was entertainted by Ghost Protocol but dissappointed. The movie lacked emotional linkage, It doesn't move you.
We didn't get to hate the bad guy as we did in MI 3 with Philip Seymour Hoffman,
We didn't have the deeply driven emotional reactions to any of the other characters that we did with "Ethan" as he was weighing the life and death of his character wife with a gun to her head in MI3.
Action, action and more action, and some awesome stunts.
The new team is "Okay" but we were really not introduced to them enough to care if they lived or died.
Would have been a classic if we reigned back a little on the action and developed the characters, I was tired of action by movies end.

Action, professionally served. Cruise, whose hand is everywhere in the production, obviously cares for the series. Photography from on high is stunning, taking you with Cruise on his hi-tech Stunts Impossible. And he winces when hitting the ground, perhaps because age is creeping up on him. True to the spirit of the series, the tension is non-stop, breathless -- a feast for the holidays and a tough act to follow for all those action films coming in January.

Just an excellent movie - if you like action-galore. It was simply a thrill-ride from start to finish. Cruise has never looked more handsome, the eye-candy gal (Paula Patton) is so achingly beautiful that I never wanted the camera to leave her, and (surprise) a terrific action-movie actress. Also got a real kick out of Simon Pegg and Jeremy Renner. Pegg was obviously in there for the comic relief, but Renner was also surprisingly funny. Quickest 2 hours I've been part of since my high school reunion.

My daughter (18) and I went and saw it in Imax - awesome video and stunts. It was very enjoyable. I think it was the best of all the MI movies. Cruise didn't pout he did grimace alot but took a beating in most of the action scenes. Some nice plot twists and very good supporting cast. Go see it and have some fun.

This is a fun, fast-paced film in a new area for producer Brad Bird (PiXar). The well-known (iconic?) score is re-scored at start of film which appears to reduce the emotional power of the theme but when that music is needed at full-speed later in the plot, it carries the characters well.
Some areas of distinct "suspend disbelief," and some of unappreciated comedy. Notably - 5'4" Cruise walking into a party next to 5'7" female wearing high heels -- and they are the same height!! LOL
Great fun -- enjoy and don't think too much!

The combination of character development and almost non-stop action made this the best movie in the Impossible Mission series. Brad Bird does a great job of changing the tempo just enough from scene to scene to keep you on the edge of your seat and the witty distractions are sprinkled sparingly to keep you from going into an action coma. Bird must be channeling JJ Abrams because his first live action feature is a definite success.

I loved it! The action scenes were amazing, gotta love the comedy within it as well. All around a great film :) I would expect no less of Tom Cruise.

It is nothing less than can be expected from Tom Cruise; absolutely, white knuckle, mind blowing suspense. I found myself jumping and gripping the chair during some of the more risk taking scenes. I will, no doubt watch it again, and maybe again. I loved it, and think everyone else should get a chance to experience this flick on IMAX. It makes it so much better to enjoy.
