I loved the first two Paranormal Activity movies. Loved them. So I was extremely excited to see this one. Everyone at work that had seen it before me was buzzing about what an awesome film this was...one guy had actually seen it twice. So imagine my surprise when I saw it, only to feel like it was more of the exact same, but for some reason less effective. The one thing that bothered me (this is not a spoiler) is that the film is supposed to be set in the 1980s...and filmed on VHS tape....so why didn't it look like it? It looked as if it was on digital HD and shot with steady cams! There were a couple of moments that were scary, but on the whole I felt this movie was a dud. At one point near the end of the film, during what should've been the climactic ending, there was a scene that got a laugh from the audience (and it was supposed to be "terrifying") because it was so bad. Wish I would've just stopped with the first 2 films.

Paranormal Activity 3 fails to deliver the thrills and tension that made the first two so entertaining. Predictable scares along with tedious camera work make this film a rental at best. The movie abruptly ends just as the film starts to get interesting. For such a hyped up ending it left me scratching my head as I turned toward my friend and we both said, in unision, "That's it?!"

I took my 10yr old with me since he begged me to finally let him see a scary movie. The 1st and 2nd film made me gasp of terror but this one was actually funny. My son even was laughing....
