The movie was good, but it didn't answer some of the questions that I had. Also, the previews showed quite a few scenes that I didn't see in the movie. The effects were good too, but some were repeats of ones in past movies.

I think the movie was really good. It was so much fun laughing at others sitting around me screaming at the top of there lungs. I love all the moments where things just "POP" out at you. So I think overall it was a good movie but the ending sorta sucked.

Super scary movie!!! Definitely a Top 10 Best!!! I was pretty disappointed to find that there are two versions of this movie and the viewer doesn't know which version they're viewing before purchase. I would love to see the other version but without that knowledge, I wouldn't want to get stuck watching the version I've already seen again. Just have to wait till it's out on Blueray.

It was so scary I could barely watch it! They did a great job. Yes none of the previews from tv are in it, but that means you have no idea what's going to happen and makes it all the more scarier. I think that was the point, to mislead you! Not because they are "dumb" as others have said.. I'm sure they knew what they were doing...The ending is left open which is crappy but if there is a 4 I will see it too!

Yes, my wife was clutching my arm more than a few times watching this! She even, and I don't know how, knocked out my contact lens... Yes, I saw the first two, loved how creepy they make scenes when nothing is happening, and then sometimes, BANG, scare us! You will get more of that, it's creepy. It also gives us more of a full story as to why this is happening to the girls, but doesn't spell it all out and offers more questions. Definitely a few AHH, moments you will remember too. If you like to be scared, this is a fun, and it seemed quick, movie to check out. I expect we'll be seeing another sequel/prequel and I will see that one too!

Went to see the midnight premiere and 9 of the rooms in the theater were packed! The only disappointing things in this movie were 1) A lot of the preview clips ARE NOT in the movie, such as the girl jumping off the ledge in the room and the 2 girls in the bathroom doing "Bloody Mary" and the mother being dragged out of the room. I guess those made the cutting room floor, but why put them in the previews if they are not even in the movie nor is any reference made to it! 2)The ending, not to do a spoiler, BUT if you are/were a Sopranos fan and didn't like the ending of the series, you will be the same way when this ends, they are leaving it open for #4, which I will run to see again, but was a little annoying. There were scenes that made you jump out of your seat, some you knew were coming, but just didn't know when, which made for a good climax. Some made you laugh, and some were down right creepy! If not for the ending and the previews being misleading, I would have given it a 5 star rating instead of a 4. It is in NO WAY one of those "Gee, lets see how many sequels we can make before people get sick of it" movies by a long shot! Go see it in the theater to get the true sound effects and creepiness of it. I don't think movies like this have the same effect on dvd. Make sure you see the other ones first so that you know where you are in the movie, and since it's been awhile since the last one, watch the 2nd one before you go so you don't get lost. Not that it really picks up where it left off, but you need to remember the history of it. Go see this movie, you will not be disappointed. My friend and I are both in are early, VERY early 40's and almost jumped in each others laps at certain points, so it's not a teen slasher film either. Go see it!

Paranormal Activity 3 was the scariest movie I have ever seen, and the suspense is crazy. I don't want to give anything away, but this is the best out of the three! Don't believe other reviewers saying they weren't scared, they just don't want to admit it. I have to say that the ending wasn't very good, but hopefully a fourth movie is made! If you liked the first two, you will love this :)

Paranormal Activity 3, in my opinion, not the best of the three. I am a huge movie person. More so scary than anything else. And with movies like these, for me, everything needs to fit. PA3 does not fit with the first two. In the movie trailers, there is a fire, which we learned from the first movie that that was how and where Katie and cristi lived an had strange experinces with a ghost. The fire was not in the movie so it didn't make sense. The part in the trailer where cristi throws water and shows the mom there is a man there is not in the movie. To sum it up, if youre looking to see parts of the trailer in the movie, you will be disappointed. Thus movie alone jot compared to the first two, is an awesome movie. But as te audience already knows somewhat how the story line is going to play out, it doesn't fit and is frustating.

The movie overall was not horrible was not worth watching in the movie theater. The ending was not good in my opinion, many parts from the previews of the movie were left out of the movie. There were no real big changes from the last two just continuing the same old story. This movie could have been much better was was just thrown together. Recommend watching at home from a rental on a night you have nothing better to do if you want to know how the story continues.

Ok I have seen some pretty scary moives, but wow this one really got to me. It just all seems so real! Had trouble sleeping last night thats for sure! Good move to go see with a group of friends this month, your gonna love it. Also if you have not seen the 1st and 2nd one no worries the 3rd one explains how it all started so you wont be confused at all but you will be freaked out!!!! Cant wait to buy it. :)

Aside from what many reviewers are already saying, the fact that many of the scary portions of the previews weren't even in the movie, this was not worth the time and money. I saw a 10:00 P.M. showing last night and was disappointed. The movie was similar in scares to the first two, but lacked the clever plot. This movie, especially the overhyped ending, was confusing and not nearly as well put together as the first two were. The only thing, keeping it from a one, was the new two way camera introduced that definitely made for some creepy moments. Rentable yes, but don't waste the theater money.

I don't know why some of these reviews are short-changing the movies for misleading the viewers with trailers. That's what made it scarier. You see a scene in the trailer, and then you see that same scene in the movie, and--in a horror movie, like this--that scene is a thousand times less scary, because you saw it coming and know what happens. For me, sitting there in the theatre and watching the scenes I expected to scare me one way, only to turn around and blow my mind alternatively... Why on earth would I complain about that? Talk about grasping at straws. That's now a complaint? If that's the reason you're bringing this movie down from 5 stars to 3, then for the love of god don't write a movie review.
This movie terrified me. I saw 1, loved it, couldn't sleep. I saw 2, didn't faze me at all. I thought 2 failed in all the ways that 1 succeeded. But 3 surpassed even 1, in my opinion. It was terrifying throughout. You weren't even safe in the day time. It was legitimately scary, in two fantastic ways. First, it didn't rely on gore and dismemberment. And second, it didn't rely on all-of-a-sudden shock-value screen appearance accompanied by a whir of the string section. Those two components typify the modern horror genre--look at Saw, for god's sake--and in my opinion are the joint reason that horror movies are worthless. The PA series shows you how to make a good horror movie. it doesn't resort to cheap scare tactics like slasher films, nor does it simply try to outdo itself by breaking the previous film's record for most internal organs seen onscreen at any one time. It was a well done film, and it deserves such credit.

If you loved Paranormal Activity 1 and 2 then you'll love the third one even more! It was full of much more special effects and a lot happened during the daytime, more so than in the second one. The ending was such a twist, and fingers crossed they'll continue makinng these movies. See it!

This third Paranormal is a prequel that occasionally goes off the rails but also offers more laughs and somewhat more character development than the previous installments. One-ups both of the previous films in quality and quantity of its scares. For sheer knee-jerk scares, Paranormal Activity 3 won't have any serious competition all year. A must see!

The trailers were misleading, I was anticipating scenes that were not in the movie. There was very little explanation as to what the supernatural entity was or why it was doing what it was doing. I'm not a fan of horror/suspense movies but this one was fun because the scariest moments were not gory. There were great moments where popcorn was accidentally thrown.

We were so excited to go see this movie when we heard it was coming out that we JUMPED the gun and went to see the 10:00 movie. Im not sure NOW if that was the right thing to do. Why? Im not sure if we saw the MOVIE that these trailers portray or if we were "chumped" for some short fake me out movie. Out of all of the trailers (which is what pumped us up), we saw maybe ONE or two of those scenes. Big disappointment! What happened to the girls in the bathroom? The water being thrown on the "ghostly figure"? The little girl jumping off of the rail? Where was all of that? We were truly disappointed. Did our theater show us something totally different? Especially with the ending WE SAW!!! Although I said I wouldn't recommend this movie to a friend, that is because it wasn't what hyped us up to go see the movie, it was a variation of those trailers. Im a paranormal fan, but I'm NOT liking this movie (at least the one the 10:00 pm folks got to see last night).

PA3 was good...lots of great scare tactics and "jumpy moments", and not as much talking as the first two installments. It was also funnier! The only issue I have is that it focused so much on the fright that it failed to tie any of the story together. Left me with a lot of unanswered questions...but maybe that's what they wanted. Overall good movie though! You should go see it

The movie had some parts that made u jump in the beinning but did start to wow me until the middle. the last 15 min where crazy and had me on edge but i didn't see the parts i seen in some commercials so i'm sure they will come out with an uncut version.

To start: If you liked the first 2 PA movies, you will like this one. It is more of the same, with a few new inventive jump scares. The movie takes an odd turn at the end that a lot of people may not like. The last 10 minutes are very tense.
I think this movie suffered though from over-editing. There are a lot of very obvious missed opportunities that were probably filmed but cut out in the end (it is a very short movie in it's final form). There are a LOT of scenes in the commercial and trailer that are not in the final film. The "Bloody Mary" scene that everyone has seen is completely different in the final film (I suspect it was more teaser footage than meant to be in the movie). The oscillating fan camera could have been used much more effectively.
Best to see in a quiet theater, there are a lot of subtle noises that you can't hear if the teenagers behind you don't stop talking to each other or playing with their cell phones every 30 seconds.

In one word, this movie is boring. Of course there are moments that are going to make you jump but that is only because after suffering through 15 minutes of tedious dialogue and silence there is a loud bang or someone looks into the camera and says boo, literally. After being forced to watch part 2, I told myself I would never watch a movie like this again, but the trailer for this one seemed so promising. A broken promise. The trailer was more exiciting than the movie. Half the scenes that are in it don't appear in the movie. If they had put them in the movie it might have actually moved the plot along. Instead you get an hour of nothing happening, 10 minutes of nothing happening through a camera mounted on an oscillating fan, and then 6 minutes of bangs and boos that seem creepier than they actually are because my thoughts have been wandering to when am I going to find time to pick up leaves this weekend, why are all those hippies occupying everywhere, and is 2012 going to happen, ................BOO. If that didn't scare you, don't see this movie.

Even though this was a GREAT movie, the previews were scarier. There was a bit of comedy to it as well but cannot wait for the uncut on dvd. Hubby and I were defiantly still on the edge of our seats and this is by far the best one so far from this sequel. We cannot wait to see 4!
