Good movie; it flowed. BUT, while it was funny in parts, it was really a sad movie. The main character seemed not to know how life worked and was self-centered thereby alienating each person as time went by.
When finally "held-down" by one of her friends, it finally occurred to her that she really needs to be her own person and get on with life.

Rarely do I attend a movie with my wife that I would classify as a :Chick Flick." But this movie with an audience predominantly made of up of middle aged women, was fantastic! It had everything a comedy/drama should have. Laughter, humor, sincerity, firendships,trust, sex and of course a story to be told. I think we all can identify with at least one character in the film. This made "Hangover" look like a trailer for this movie. Please, please do not miss it. Remember, Dirk Diggler always tells the truth or else something might grow, if you get what I mean.

I can not believe the high ratings on this movie! It started out so slow and it never got any better! At one point in the movie, on their way to Vegas, I thought, finally it is picking up! BUT NO!! It got worse!! Why this was being advertised as the female version of Hangover is beyond me. The cast was good but this movie is not worth buying a movie ticket and maybe worth a rental if every other new relaease is gone and it is all you can get. Three couples got up an left the theatre before it was over.

I laughed a lot, although the movie was too long for a comedy - over two hours. Kristen Wiig and Maya Rudolph are always fun to watch. I'm usually one to like happy endings, but the happy ending in this movie wasn't convincing. It pretty much ruined the movie for me - maybe because the story hit a little too close to home for me.

We've all suffered through bridal brunches, bridal showers, and meeting your fellow bridesmaids (some of whom you can't stand), and trying to do it all with grace and good manners. This movie was fun and mildly funny. But it certainly didnt come close to the raves that its been getting. The writing was pretty drippy / schlocky / overly sentimental. The gags were decent. Especially the scene where all the main characters were selecting bridesmaids dresses... but then again, such a scene with such a movie title best be good. It was kind of sad to see that Melissa McCarthy (Megan) stole the movie with a cast like Kristen Whig (Annie) and Maya Rudolph (Lillian.) But it also goes to show how talented Melissa McCarthy really is. SHe is really great in this movie. Wendi McLendon-Covey (Rita) was also exceptional although conservative Mom's may cringe... hahaha! Take that!
Not worth the price of the ticket, but definitely worth the wait for on-demand or major network broadcast (hope someone gets that joke.)

For those of you guys like me, who would rather go see action flicks, I have to say I am glad I gambled on this chick-comedy-romance. The movie was really good. Kristin Wiig is flat out a great comedic actress. And I stress the word "actress". She is convincing and draws out your emotions. The ensemble cast was fun, especially Rose Byrne. She was the Zach Galifianikis of this movie - Just Hilarious!! This was more girlfriend comedy than romantic comedy, but there was just enough romance for the happy ending that we all expected. I was probably the oldest in the theater, but I was laughing out loud probably the most. It was outrageosly funny and raunchy at the same time. Had a good story line and hits some spots that probably a lot of women can relate to at some point in their lives. Loved it.

I was really excited to see this movie - hoping that the comparisons to the original Hangover movie were apt. The movie started out really slow to me (I felt the setting up scenes were too long), but then the movie reached its stride about 20 minutes into it with the engagement party scene.
The laughs were coming pretty strongly after that point. I have to admit, I adore Chris O'Dowd from his work on "The IT Crowd" and so my affection for him may color my enjoyment of him, but I thought he was a great character in the movie.
But the movie is really Wiig's, and she is, at times, adorable, horrible, and strong. I really enjoyed the last act and now the final song has been stuck in my head since then!

Never before have I gone back to see a movie in the theater a second time. I've seen this twice and will go back again. So funny but also sweet and touching. Kristen Wiig is simply perfect in this role. Loved every minute of it.

"Hangover for women" is what I had heard it referred to, but in addition to the outrageously funny scenes there were some tender, thoughtful moments too. Great movie to see with a girlfriend or two!
