I loved Matt Damon as Jason but? This has nothing to do with this post? Jeremy Renner did a good job with a lousy script> Simple as that? Never really heard of him and am sure he will be the next talked about actor when he receives a worthy script? Racheal Weisz is definitely a support to any movie! Edward Norton is capable of some serious acting? But was given the Sunday Newspaper, for a Job here? So? What I'm saying is that they didn't really need the big name for such a small part? Does Matt Damon get any bucks here for just showing his picture? Oh? And the head of the CIA or what ever the branch is called Miss Landy? Was she ever really in this movie besides a jittery camera and swift garbled move to a car in front of reporters? Anyway? Bottom line? A drug tainted super spy?? Weak! The Lock 3... I think? Super soldier that was the next Generation of Matt and Jeremy?? Please? While Jeremy was with drawing from med's? While driving fast on a Dirt Bike with Rachael Co-piloting on back of Bike? With her dealing with the Super Secret ONLY ONE Agent, swinging her helmet at, and finally ending the chase herself with a good quick leg thrust into a bridge support beam seem'ed.... Rather final??? Jeremy then collapses on bike into a Non speaking English, Asian Dad and son? Then begging them for assistance??? Then they sail away in an old Asian fishing trawler... The END??? :-)... :-(.... :-0 what?!??! Sorry don't think so! And this has nothing to do with Matt Damon? I'll bet he's even saying? " Glad I passed on the Script!?" lol

The story about the 'meds' needed for these agents was really lame. It made Aaron look like a junky just trying to get his next fix.
The action scenes were great however, and Jeremy Renner did his best with a character that had a not-good story line.
But it was entertaining.

For those that thought the "Bourne" saga was over... not so faaaassssst. I saw it today, thought it was very well done and wide open for at least 2 or 3 more. Jeremy Renner was perfect for the lead, Rachel Weiz was at her best , Ed Norton... what can I say, he's such a pro. Supporting actors... not a bad one in the bunch.

It is a good movie. I did not see any of the other movies in the "Bourne" series, I didn't think I would like them. After seeing this one I am going to watch them. I really liked the movie.

Granted, the bar was set incredibly high by the previous three films. But how many franchises have attempted to deliver "more of the same" in subsequent installments, only to diminish the luster of the original set? Too many to count. So, Gilroy made a few choices here. Yes, there's no Matt Damon, and the amnesia made for an interesting center of gravity in the first three. But, you can't sustain that forever. The Bourne Legacy--contrary to what many have said--is at its core a very simple story. Arguably too simple. The world is nice and taut. The "bad guys" are trying to shut down a program that affects our hero, and our hero is trying desperately not to get in the cross hairs. There are enough cool moments throughout to thrill anyone who liked any of the first three. VERY cool moments, at that. Gilroy has an incredible knack for storytelling, and a very impressive restrained approach to directing. Yes, the action scenes might not quite match the high throttle intensity of Greengrass (that bar may remain untouched for quite some time), but Gilroy's installment is a worthy follow-up. I'd be eager to see more.

Great cast - especially Jeremy Renner and Rachel Weisz. I do agree with an earlier post that the story was a little slow at the beginning, but the beautiful landscape scenes made up for it. The camera work during the chase scenes were sometimes too close to really see what was going on. The plot was interesting and suspenseful. Overall, the movie was entertaining and is probably a primer for a sequel to include both Jeremy Renner and Matt Damon (given the numerous references and photo shots of Jason Bourne). Worth the price of admission.

The story is overly confusing and for the most part unnecessary. The action scenes, although very well done, are hard to see at times because of the camera work. I also understand that this takes place in the same universe as Jason Bourne, but they talk about Jason Bourne throughout the whole movie, but never show him. I would have been much happier if they didn't mention him except in the beginning, after that it didn't need to be said. And besides all of that the story is incredibly slow, and not at all self-contained. I would wait for DVD before I watched this one, because you want to be able to get up and stretch when they start talking about things that really have very little to do with the story itself.

Renner makes it look easy as he dons the suit of world Most Wanted Man. A stellar cast lead by Ed Norton keeps the suspense going while they tie up loose ends from the old series. A little chemistry is nice but the action never stops. And the most suspenseful scene in the movie is two men eating dinner. Well done!

Agree with another user, this movie was a great disappointment. No sign of Jason Bourne???? Acting was good but plot too complicated and much too slow at the beginning. Nothing like the previous movies and a big disappointment to the whole family, especially my 18 year old son, who had been awaiting it's release.

I waited for this movie with great anticipation and was greatly dissapointed. First.........the good things. Jeremy Renner is a good actor (better than Matt Damon) and his supporting cast was great. The bad......the story line was weak (blue pill or yellow pill, come on now!) and the movie started out slow. They showed clips from the last Bourne movie but they never tell you what happened to Jason Bourne or his previous bosses who were under investigation. By the time the movie got to a good action scene (the motor bike scene) the movie ended and you were left hanging. You can tell that the same crew that did the first three movies DEFINITELY were not on board for this one.

I loved the story how they extended the Bourne story line they can have a couple more sequels without it getting screwed up like other movies . The four Bourne movies are great

Very disappointing. This first hour and fifteen minutes sets up the new plot, and the last hour is the movie. They should have charged half price, and I would have rated a little higher.
Jeremy Renner is no Matt Damon. Not a convincing performance. Oscar Isaac was a bright light at the start, but went away much too soon. The chase scene was my favorite, but not on par with previous Bourne installments.
Considering the credits, this should have been much bettter. I won't go to the next one, but I doubt there will be one...

Great acting, great cinematography and art direction, and an earnestness to be contemporary make this a satisfying popcorn film. No one in the theatre knew what was going on for the first hour, and that botherd some and intrigued others. All the actors were so good, they were fun to watch. Rachel Weisz was particularly convincing as a beautiful scientist, somehow avoiding the Bond girl caricature. Edward Norton is super-believable as an American behind-the-scenes power player. Renner is physically and emotionally convincing. I'm sure everyone misses Matt Damon and I hope they figure out how to continue the series with his character and Renner's and a more cerebrally engaging story.
Pros fun to watch.
Cons story line stretched thin.

The movie ended too abruptly and the chase scenes were way too long, it got boring after awhile. I love the Bourne movies, and they didn't tie the two into each other very good, it looked like a new movie with shots from the Bourne movies added in.
