I loved the 1st Iron Man and the 2nd was not bad either. However, the 3rd, though good, seemed too long. Should have cut 15-20 minutes out of it. Story was ok but predictable. Best parts were with the little kid and Tony Stark.Special effects were great. WIll there be a 4th part? Do't waste you time sitting through the long credits, no teaser, just some fun. Wait for video unless you are a true Iron Man or comic book fan.

There is such a thing as "Too much of a good thing" This movie proves that over and over. Loved Ben Kingsley as the Mandarin..but that didnt last. Still Hate Don Cheadle in this...Im sure Terrence Howard is glad he walked away from this mess. Heres the movie...A dozen (or so) people somehow medically altered (not explained) to be human torches VS a dozen (or so) remotely (Jarvis) controlled iron man suits =YAWN!!!!! Dragged on and on..you couldnt pay me to sit through it again.

This movie was great to me. It followed the storyline even from The Avengers and has kept all the same actors within. This movies series is the best triple movie I have ever seen. I do not take my movies lightly either. My rating and comments are well deserved by you guys. I do not wish to go into super detail but ultimately this movie was the bomb so to speak. :-) 2 thumbs up!

Although I enjoyed both films prior to this one, and admire the different direction the director and script took in this film, even Downey Jr. could not save IM3 for me because style is no substitute for substance.
While I appreciate the visual dynamism effected by the special effects teams, I am beginning to feel that such displays in today's mega films are meant to take the place of strong narrative structures and character developments. Plot and character development in comic books takes many months or years of issues to establish credible heroes and villains: shouldn't films take a few minutes to do the same?
The villain (Pearce) in this film is supposed to be established in one scene where he and his half-hearted accomplice (Hall) are given the short shrift first by playboy Tony Stark, then by Paltrow's Pepper Potts. Where is the development of character and motivation?
I understand it is a film, but I want to buy in for my $10. I prefer not be numb at the end of the film and on the verge of walking out because there has been no catharsis, revelation, or meaning imparted to the viewer. If I am asking too much from the genre, then so be it. If children and adults alike are bedazzled by the film's visuals, maybe we should all be asking for more than shards of iron.
With that being said, Kingsley portraying a druggie was pretty funny--this film would have benefited from more scenes with Kingsley. And Downey Jr. does his level best to imbue the third film with some dignity. But I would have preferred if Paltrow and Hall were less stoic in their roles--they lack the passion and vivacity which would have otherwise gave them some depth of character. What we end up with is a heroine who lacks warmth and passion, and a partial villain who lacks malevolence and spirit.
No, I do not recommend this movie.

I loved most of what was offered in this movie, especially the comedic relief, but as a comic book buff, I was a little dumbfounded by the path the story took as the main villain was a false portrayal of what he truly was in the comics. Also, during the entire movie, I found a lack of rings that gave Mandarin his true power. Anyway, long story short... great movie, but if you're a comic buff take it with a grain of salt.

Thought the movie was "magical". My husband who knows everything to do with super heroes was disappointed in how they portrayed the villain in this movie and was disappointed with the ending. But other then that we both thought it was funny, great action scenes, and of course great acting.

Robert Downey Jr. IS Tony Stark. His portrayal of the troubled, egotistical Tony is spectacular in this newest film. It has the same hilarious writing for our Iron Man, with memorable scenes with the whole cast. Into the plot, I believe the use of the Mandarin in marketing is a cheap trick with a hollow character that disgraces the image of the Mandarin - in classical comic book lore. However, audiences will be surprised to see Ben Kingsley take what was given to him and make it his own. He does his best with the character and to his credit there is no flaw with him. "AIM" is the villain that "you didn't see coming" and while the movie as a whole filled out nicely, the problem with the movie as a whole was a miscommunication of who the villain is or is not (think a sloppier duo of Spider man 3).
In all, the movie is wonderful with another brilliant performance by RDJ, but bogged down by a surprise twist that is more disappointing than anything else. Here's to hoping Tony Stark will return!

With all of the hype over Ben Kingsley as the Mandarin, I was expecting a much better story line. Everything else was excellent. If there was a set up for Ironman 4 (return of the Mandarin), I would have been happier.

Iron Man 3 is a good movie... more realistic than the previous Marvel flicks; seems they took some story concepts from Nolan's Dark Kight series, which is what made it more realistic. The Extremis tie in a great as well, but I was hoping to see a bit more. Ben Kingsley is amazing!!!

Excellent action movie...but story line don't convince. Big Difference with story on Iron Man 2, this wasn't developed to give the felling of a well rounded movie. Still a very recommendable movie...!!!!
