I didn't really like penguins before but now i totally love them to pieces! Jim Carey really delivered on this movie. From beginning to end I laughed. At times it was sad and at times I felt like I was there. Wish they had real penguins at the theatre to promote the movie, lol.

This is the story of how a MIA Dad reaches out in a final act to save his son from repeating his mistake of putting family second. As in Carey's previous film Liar Liar, the message is very similar, but here he tones down his shtick and lets a half dozen penguins be the comic relief.
This is very much a family film. It makes no pretense to be otherwise and it works quite well on that level. Kids will love this and parents will be delighted.
The great dame of the theater, Angela Lansbury appears as the dowager who will determine Mr. Popper's fate. But we all know from the start how it will end. Its the journey that we come to see. Even when its familiar its still entertaining.

This film makes Jim Carry feel as though he truly has matured as an actor and a comedian. It is very believable. It is warm and fun. It was really a nice family film. Jim Carry wasn't needless over the top like he can be sometimes, and there were moments where he brought true depth to his character. That is not to mention that the penguins (which were either well trained or incredibly well done CGI) were magnificent to behold. Had my coworker not recommended this film, I would have missed it. I am very glad I didn't.

I took my 2 sons ages 14 and 9 to see this movie and we all laughed until we cried. I haven't laughed this hard in a long time. This has to be the best Jim Carrey movie of all times. This is a must see for everyone.
