I enjoyed the music, which was generally uplifting and well performed. However, the story line detracted so much from this movie that I would not recommend spending the money to see it in the theater. They tried to address far too many family issues which are very serious issues and cannot be properly addressed in the 15-20 minutes each is given. Thus, they didn't treat any of the issues with the time an attention they deserve. There were also some sub-plots that were just plain weird. I think they were supposed to be funny, but they were far from it and detracted from the music even more. The plots were so bad that they are all I remember of the movie. I don't remember the music.

The Hollywood left and non-Christian movie critics will begin to savage this fun, church-choir oriented movie well before they lay their eyes & ears on it. It is their very nature to do this. For Christian and open-minded film buffs who do not always need something edgy and psychologically deceptive ....for most of us.....we will thoroughly enjoy the joyful noise in "Joyful Noise". It seems to get more difficult every year to make a creative, enjoyable & entertaining G, PG or PG-13 movie. Here is proof that it can be done ... and done well indeed. The story is not perfect and the dialogue can sometimes feel a bit forced .... but the music, the humor, the warmth and the story itself all get high marks. Kudos to icon Dolly Parton, Queen Latifah and the entire cast. We were laughing and tapping our feet and emotionally engaged for the entire 2 hours! It is possible that Dolly & the Queen may just be the perfect modern movie road team. The 21st century answer to Hope & Crosby! Here is hoping that they team up again...and often! A rhino horn with floating halo up ....up....up! Want to feel good? Feel good now ....and want to feel better? The answer: simply run down to your nearest cineplex and see Joyful Noise. It's a good bet it will be the "cure for what ails ya'!

I loved the movie, it was hilariously funny, a laugh almost every minute of the movie. I only have one complaint and that is too much profanity for young children. Just saw this movie this afternoon, with my 11 yrs. old daughter. She and I just loved it...totally recommended is definitely a girlfriends movie or family movie...just awesome...get out to see it!!!

There were some slow parts at the beginning and probably some stuff that could have been cut. But, all in all it was a feel good movie and enjoyable. Nice change from shoot em ups. I loved the interaction between Dolly and Queen. The cafe fight was hysterical. The voices of all of the singers were fabulous. Not necessarily my pick of songs but not bad. Some real life drama. I would have loved to have heard Dolly sing 'Coat of Many Colors.' Many people clapped at the end. The only irritaing part was the woman behind me who kept tapping her foot to the music. It wouldn't have been too bad except she didn't have any rhythm...lol

I have always been a fan of Dolly Parton and Queen Latifah so I had to see how these two would play off each other in this movie. From start to finish this movie was a pure joy to watch. Although the story line is not new, it has a modern twist for today's family and the struggles they face. It was touching, poignant and uplifting. The music and singing talent in this show is uplifiting and off the charts! You have to see it and hear it at the theater to appreciate it.You will feel good that you did. Queen Latifah gives a powerhouse performance and Dolly is a true gem.

alright joyful noise reviews are terrible sure its pg 13 and sure it swares and contains sexual content (not really just people kissing) but even though people left its a funfilled big hearted joyful family movie and i watched it today and i loved it so u better too ! i have no idea why people would ever leave the theater it had a beautiful ending the whole movie was amazing we were debating to go see the movie because of the review the whole theater was laughing and clapping it was a great movie i think anyone or anybody would enjoy it !
have fun watching joyful noise! by the way the popcorn is a ripoff
