I wen to se this film with a five year old as part of my birthday week. I confess that the smurfs were really after my time, but I have to say that I am now a Smurf addict! I loved this movie as it did not try to be anything more than what it was-- a sweet story with a great moral to it, but not too syrupy sweet to make adults gag and run!! I left the theater actually telling my 5 yo friend and his mom that I would love to go see it again!!

This was a much better movie than I thought it would be. A very good family movie , with a good message. I saw it with a 12 and a 16yr. old , both of whom enjoyed it. The animation was not distracting in the least and after a while you forget that you're watching CGI characters. The cat is fantastic ,and Neil Patrick Harris is great. If you are looking for a movie that you can take the kids to , and not have to grit your teeth or fall asleep at;then this is it.

I was truly pleased to laugh as much as my grand-daughter did! It was hilarious and endearing. Both the live and animated casts were great and Clumsy stole the show. I'm glad the Smurfs are back to entertain a whole new generation.

We took our kids to this. Our son is 6 1/2 and our daughter is 1 1/2. Our son loved it. Our daughter watched until she fell asleep. The story line was interesting and it wasn't at all boring. There were funny times that even the adults could enjoy if they didn't care for the Smurfiness of the movie. All in all, we give it two Smurfs up. :)

Very cute movie! Hank Azaria was excellent and really added to the movie. They did a nice job blending the animated smurfs with the real-life characters. My kids can't wait to buy it when it comes out on DVD.

I definitely think this was a great family movie, which kept all of our interests! I was a bit pessimistic having grown up with the original Smurf cartoons, but this movie did a a great job of meshing a classic with modern day culture. I will definitely buy a copy when this is released.

This movie was what I so needed to bridge my childhood with my children's childhood. I enjoyed The Smurfs cartoon when I was a kid and to see it as a movie was just great and my kids were in love. They sang along during the movie, laughed and then asked me if I knew them. Once I said 'yes' their eyes lit up like stars. What a great movie!!!

I don't know what people were expecting from this movie. I mean, seriously, we are talking about the Smurfs here! Anyway, if you ever watched the cartoon as a kid, you will enjoy the movie. It is very much along the lines of what I remember enjoying as a 10 year old boy, and the only thing that I missed was having Gargamel scream about hating the smurfs. Why we need to make EVERYTHING politically correct is besides me, but then again, it's probably done by the same people that expected this movie to be on par with "The King's Speech" or something like that. Take your kids and family to watch this movie and simply allow yourself to be entertained.

As an adult , I thought the 3D could of been better and more money put into the movie. As a parent it was wonderful and that's what it is all about. I have a 3 Yr old Boy and a 6 Yr old Girl. My husband and I took 10 little girls age 5 & 6 to see this movie for our daughter's 6th birthday. The movie held their complete attention the entire time, they all really enjoyed it, and our daughter said it was the best birthday party ever! The movie was definitely appropriate for children of this age, and the computer animation was incredible. Hank Azaria as Gargamel was great, too. Overall a great movie-watching experience!!!

Action and humor kept the attention of my 4 grandsons ages 5-8. I can tell that the boys really enjoyed the movie when they continue to recite lines from the film for quite some time. I liked the movie as well, the references to a famous Katie Perry song and a line from Brokeback Mountain cracked me up.
